The beta for Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 started on PlayStation 4 and 5 for those who pre-ordered the game. Millions are trying to get in and experience all the new features and changes to this year’s Call of Duty experience. One of the changes many are interested in is the lack of slide cancel in Modern Warfare 2, and technically, developers removed it from the game.
However, some pro players have figured out how to slide cancel in Modern Warfare 2. In this guide, I will explain everything you need to know about slide canceling in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, but it should be noted that the process is much more complex and may not be a good idea during gun fights.

Settings for Slide Cancel
- Weapon Mount Activation controller setting to ADS
- Automatic Grounded Mantle and Grounded Mantle set to off
- Automatic Airborne Mantle set to off

- Equip a pistol
- slide
- swap weapon while sliding
- ADS
- Jump
This one is tougher to master than the slide cancel we are used to from Modern Warfare 2019. It remains to be seen if developers let this go on or patch it out of the game. But for the time being, you can indeed slide cancel in Modern Warfare 2 but hold off on putting too much time into practicing it until we know if it’ll stay in the game.
