The ATX 3.0 and Gen 5.0 (12VHPWR) standard is designed to fully support net-generation CPUs and GPUs and tackle the 3x power spikes that the hardware would create. Since the announcement of the RTX 4090, people are really getting interested in the new standard and are looking for ATX 3.0 Gen 5.0 PSUs but Corsairs says they don’t have to.

According to Corsair, the new Nvidia 40 series graphics cards are already compatible with the currently available Corsair PSUs. The RTX 4090 uses the new 12+4 pin 12VHPWR power connector but all cards ship with a PCI-e 8-pin power to 12VHPWR adapter.

Nvidia RTX 4090

The following is what Corsair had to say regarding the ATX 3.0 standard:

There’s no need to wait for future PSUs to support Intel’s new ATX 3.0 standard and CORSAIR’s power supplies already provide the needed reliability and quality components to support the higher power needs of the next generation of PC hardware. Whether it’s an RM1000 that’s seen many builds, or a brand new HX1500i, you can depend on your CORSAIR PSU to power your graphics cards into the future.

Furthermore, customers can also order the official Corsair VHPWR 600W cables compatible with all Corsair type-4 PSUs. These connect directly to the PSU via the existing PSU-side connectors for unfettered power straight for your new graphics card without the need for a PCIe adapter. Sense wires are configured to 600W for 1200W rated Corsair PSUs and higher while they are limited to 450W for 1000W or higher PSUs and 300W for 750W or higher.

The official CORSAIR 12VHPWR 600W PSU cable is available to order immediately from the Corsair store. Orders will ship beginning September 29th.

Let us know what you think about Corsair telling consumers to not wait for the ATX 3.0 PSUs and whether or not you are interested in upgrading to the RTX 40 series graphics cards. If you are then you can also check out our recommended ATX 3.0 PCIe Gen 5 power supply units.

With the launch of AMD Ryzen 7000 series CPUs and AM5 socket motherboards around the corner, Corsair has posted benchmarks for the Corsair MP700 PCIe Gen5 SSDs. Here is what you need to know about the upcoming PCIe Gen5 SSD.

Corsair MP700 PCIe Gen5 SSDs For AMD AM5 Read And Write Speeds

According to the official Corsair website “CORSAIR MP700 Gen5 PCIe x4 NVMe 2.0 M.2 SSD, providing up to 10,000MB/sec sequential read and 9,500MB/sec sequential write speeds depending on the model”. At the time of writing the upcoming SSD model is not listed for pre-order or purchase so we do not know how much it is going to cost but we should get more information as we get closer to the launch of the AMD Ryzen 7000 series.

Corsair MP700 Gen5 SSDs

Corsair has posted a benchmark for the CORSAIR MP700 Gen5 PCIe x4 NVMe 2.0 M.2 SSD which shows how it comes to other storage solutions and you can check out the comparative speeds below:

The official website does say that the speeds depend on the model and the term “up to” always turns me off. So do take these numbers with a grain of salt and wait for the AM5 platform to release and see how well these drives actually perform before spending your money on Gen5 SSDs.

Since the AMD Ryzen 7000 series CPUs were announced and Lisa Su mentioned that the upcoming X670E and X670 motherboards would support PCIe Gen5 graphics cards and storage, people wondered how quickly PCIe Gen5 storage solutions would be available to take advantage of the platform feature. It seems that enthusiasts will not have to wait at all and these storage devices should be available alongside the launch of the AMD AM5 socket motherboards.

Let us know what you think about these Corsair MP700 Gen5 SSDs performance numbers and whether or not you are interested in upgrading.

We recently got a leak regarding Gigabyte RAM that mentioned that it would be able to hit speeds of 5000 MHz on supported motherboards. Now Corsair has confirmed that the Vengence LPC DRAM hits 5000 MHz on compatible X570 motherboards.

This means that you do need an AMD build but 5000 MHz is very fast indeed and we know that AMD Ryzen CPUs like fast memory. The following is the official tweet from Corsair.

On the Gigabyte side of things, we do not have an official announcement but the model that will hit 5000 MHz is the GP-AR50C19S8K2HU416 / 19-26-26-46. There is a 4800 MHz model as well which is the GP-AR48C19S8K2HU416 / 19-26-26-46.

The X570 motherboards that support this feature are as follows:

You can click on the links above if you are interested in buying one of these motherboards.

We do not know what the Gigabyte RAM is going to look like but it could use the same design that we are accustomed to and come with RGB lighting like other high-end RAM modules that are available on the market right now. We also do not know anything about the pricing or availability. Stay tuned for more information regarding the Gigabyte RAM to learn more.
