Doctrine is an interesting gameplay mechanic in Cult of Lamb. These are permanent choices you make that result in new Rituals and new Traits, Buildings, and Follower Actions. Needless to say, this is an incredibly important gameplay mechanic in Cult of Lamb.
You can choose between Afterlife, Work & Worship, Possessions, Law & Order, and Sustenance Doctrines in Cult of Lamb. After making a decision about Doctrines, you can go to the Temple and select “Crown” to see your select Doctrine.

Afterlife
Afterlife is one of the Doctrines you can select in Cult of Lamb. Within the Afterlife Doctrine, you will have the following two choices:
Belief in Sacrifice | (Trait) +20 Faith whenever a sacrifice is made |
Belief in Afterlife | (Trait) Only lose -5 Faith when a cult member dies |
Ritual of Resurrection | (Ritual) The ability of bring back a dead cult member |
Funeral | (Ritual) Organize a funeral for a dead cult member and gain +20 Faith |
Respect Your Elders | (Trait) Gain +5 Faith for every elder in the cult |
Good Die Young | (Trait) Gain +10 Faith if an elder dies of natural causes but lose 20 Faith if the death is natural. |
Return to Earth | (Building) Unlock Burial sites and turn dead followers into fertilizers. |
Grieve the Fallen | (Building) Unlock Grave building where followers can grieve and gain +2 Faith. |
Work and Worship
The Work and Worship Doctrine allows you to work on your Devotion and the workloads of the followers.
Faithful | (Trait) +15% faster Devotion generation |
Industrious | (Trait) +15% increase in work speed |
Inspire | (Follower Action) Replaces Bless action and allows you to increase follower loyalty. |
Intimidate | (Follower Action) Follower can be intimidated to slightly boost his loyalty and make him work +10% harder for 2 days. |
The Glory of Construction | (Ritual) A ritual can be performed to immediately build all under-construction structures. |
Ritual of Enlightenment | (Ritual) Increase Devotion generation speed by 20% for 3 days. |
Glory Through Toil Ritual | (Ritual) Make your followers work for 3 days and nights without getting tired. |
Holy Day Ritual | (Ritual) Allow followers to rest for a day to gain +80 Faith. |
Possessions
Possessions Doctrine allows you to focus on coin collection and Faith.
Belief in Materialism | (Trait) Build improved sleeping areas to gain more faith |

Aims for the Poor Ritual | (Ritual) Distribute coins to all cult members to increase loyalty and gain +10 Faith |

Sacral Architecture | (Trait) Cult members get +5 Faith whenever a building is constructed |
Devotee | (Trait) Gain more Faith after delivering a Sermon. |
Extor Titches | Allows you to collect coins for a follower daily |
Bribe Follower | Bribe a follower to increase loyalty. You’ll need 3 coins |
Law and Order
Murder Follower | (Follower Action) Allows you to kill a follower but ensure there is no witness to avoid upsetting people. |
Ascend Follower | (Ritual) Take a follower’s soul to a higher plane of existence to boost loyalty among all followers. |
Ritualistic Fight Pit | (Ritual) Make two followers fight to the death but you can spare them in the end if you want to. |
Wedding | (Ritual) You can marry one of the followers and gain +30 Faith. |
Belief in Original Sin | (Trait) You can put a follower in jail for dissenting but you will lose Faith in putting non-dissenting followers. |
Belief in Absolution | (Trait) Gain +10 Faith every day that goes by without anyone in jail. |
Loyalty Enforcer | (Ritual) Appoint any follower as a loyalty enforcer. |
Tax Enforcer | (Ritual) Appoint any follower as your tax enforcer. |
Sustenance
The Sustenance Doctrine allows you to control Food and Farming.
Fast | (Ritual) Declare a fast in your cult to make them stop eating for three days. |
Feasting | (Ritual) Throw a huge feast for your followers. |
Cannibal | (Trait) Cult members gain +5 faith when eating follower meat. |
Grass Eater | (Trait) Cult members can eat meals prepared with grass. |
Ritual of the Harvest | (Ritual) All seeds will grow and be ready for harvest. |
Ritual of the Ocean’s Bounty | (Ritual) Get special and double fish for 2 days while fishing. |
Substances Encouraged | (Trait) Perform a brainwashing ritual to gain 20 Faith. |
Belief in Prohibitionism | (Trait) Increase devotion and work speed by 10%. Followers can become sick after the brainwashing ritual. |
