Recruiting Gray In Xenoblade Chronicles 3

You can only recruit hero characters in Xenoblade Chronicles 3 after you recruit Valdi. You will also need to complete the chapter 2 main quest called The Kind Right Hand. This will allow you to climb special walls. To find Gray, you need to head over to the location marked below:

You need to fast travel to the Kamos Guidepost landmark. After that, proceed northeast and you will reach a pink wall. Climb this wall to get higher. Head over to the marked location in the image below. You will find a bright light with enemies around it. A cutscene will trigger once you get close enough.

This will start A Gray Matter hero quest in Xenoblade Chronicles 3. After the cutscene, you will need to fight Gray. This is a tricky fight and we recommend bringing in healers and tanks in order to succeed. You need to bring down Gray’s HP to half and the fight will stop. This will trigger a cutscene and you will then need to fight against Keves soldiers.

Once you are done with them, jump off the cliff onto the beach below. Follow the golden footsteps and track Gray. Once you head down the stream you will find Gray waiting. You will see another cutscene and will fight alongside Gray.

Once you are done with the fight Gray will introduce himself and you will be able to use him as a playable hero. This is how you can recruit Gray as a hero in Xenoblade Chronicles 3. If you are interested in learning more then you can check out our guide on how you can unlock all the gem slots.
