The Arms Dealer returns once more as a Grandmaster Nightfall in Season of the Haunted. You need to be at least Power Level 1585 to start them. However, due to the “Contest Mode” being active, being higher than 1585 does not give you any kind of incentive. You will also need a pre-made fireteam of 3 because it does not support matchmaking. In this guide, we will walk you through everything you need to know about completing The Arms Dealer Grandmaster Nightfall in Destiny 2 Season of the Haunted for the Conqueror title/seal.
Destiny 2 The Arms Dealer Grandmaster Nightfall
Before we go into the best strategies, let us first talk about things you can expect to run into:
Champions | Unstoppable and Barrier |
Shields | Void, Arc, and Solar |
Boss Melt | Yes |
Burn | Arc |
When it comes to The Arms Dealer, you do not have to worry about Overload Champions. You will, however, have to deal with all three types of elemental shields – Void more than the others. And since “Matchgame” is always on in GMs, it can cause a lot of trouble so be sure to prepare accordingly. When it comes to fireteam composition, there are a handful of viable options.
- 3x Blade Barrage
- 2x WoR Warlock with Starfire Protocol, 1x bottom-tree Nightstalker
- 1x bottom-tree Nightstalker, 1x Thundercrash Titan, 1x WoR Warlock with Starfire Protocol
Coming to weapons and mods, you again have a lot of options to choose from. Some of the notable ones include:
Kinetic | Arbalest, Night Watch, Osteo Striga |
Energy | Vouchsafe, Any Glaive |
Heavy | Gjallarhorn, Hothead, Stormchaser, Threaded Needle, Sleeper |
Mods | Striking Light, Taking Charge, Elemental Charge, Any Wellmaker, Resist Mods, HEF |
It is a good idea to let the guy running Divinity also run Unstoppable Shot and Temporal Clause. The rest can go whatever they feel comfortable with.
Tips and Strategies
The basic idea is to take your time and not try to rush things. After arriving in the first open area, see if you can destroy the Thrasher above and then proceed ahead.
Also, do note that you can skip the entirety of the bridge section by taking the shortcut from the left side by using a Sparrow – Always on Time if you have got it. Do not enter the room with the tank straightaway and whittle away at them from a distance.
When it comes to the boss, remember that he will one-shot you if you are low on Resilience. Therefore, try to move away if you see him aiming at you. For those of you who want to melt the boss, send one player to climb all the way to the top where boss spawns without activating the elevator. Once that player is up, activate the elevator and let the player jump down.
Without being crushed by the Cabal drop-pod, defeat 3-4 enemies and try to melt the boss while the elevator is going up. Hothead when combined with a Gjallarhorn or a couple of Stormchaser can insta-melt him before the elevator is all the way up. If he has a little HP left, just use your Supers after getting up.
Final Boss Cheese
If you are having trouble in the final boss room, try to clear the enemies in the area and wait for the boss to go inside the bubble above. At this point, a charge will spawn and you will have to deposit it to progress the fight.
However, if you do not deposit the charge and continue to toss Solar Grenades, Vortex Grenades, Nova Bombs on the boss from below, you will slowly continue to whittle away at its HP without having to worry about enemies or the boss shooting at you.
