How to Unlock Characters in Genshin Impact?

There are a few ways to unlock characters in Genshin Impact. These are the main missions, wishes, and limited-time events. If we’re to go by the Chinese PC open beta of the game, there are a total of 23 playable characters to unlock in the game. Below is an overview of how these different methods work in Genshin Impact:

• Main Missions – The first and most obvious method to unlock characters is to complete main missions. From the early stages of the game, try to complete elemental challenges associated with different characters. You can unlock characters like Amber, Kaeya, and Lisa through this method.
• Buy Wishes – The ability to buy Wishes unlocks after you reach the library sequence in the main story. Some of these wishes are free while others require in-game currency. To celebrate the worldwide release of the game, the developer is offering a bunch of in-game currency that you can use to purchase wishes from banners in the ‘Characters’ menu. The character you get depends on the wish you pull. Currencies required to buy wishes are Acquaint Fates and Intertwined Fates.
• Limited-time Events – Lastly, you’ll often come across a range of limited-time events. Completing these events will earn you a chance to unlock different characters and weapons. You’ll need to make sure that you complete these events at the earliest.
