Similar to Animal Crossing: New Leaf, you can now swim and dive underwater in New Horizons. This was added as a part of the recent summer update and requires a Wetsuit. In this Animal Crossing: New Horizons, we’ll walk you through everything you need to know about how to swim in the game.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons Swim

Diving underwater in Animal Crossing: New Horizons lets you catch all sorts of sea creatures. Once caught, you’ll be able to trade them with Blathers to earn a lot of Nook Miles and improve your museum. However, the first step in doing so is to get your hands on a Wetsuit.

As for getting the Wetsuit, you can buy one from either Nook’s Cranny or Nook Stop – both of them should set you back 3,000 Bells. There are a few different patterns for the suit but you don’t really need to worry about them unless you’re in it for style. Those of you who are into style can also get a matching snorkel to complement your Wetsuit but you don’t really NEED it for diving in the game.

If you’re unable to find the suit, you’ll find it under ‘Misc. Items’ at Nook’s Cranny and under ‘Special Items’ section at Nook Stop.

When it comes to controls, you can continue to tap ‘A’ to swim faster, ‘Y’ to dive deep into the water, and ‘A’ while diving to dive faster. Once inside, you’ll find all sorts of treasure including pearls as well as new sea creatures to trade with Blathers.

That’s all we’ve got in our guide to buying a wetsuit to swim in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. You can also check out our Fireworks and Sparklers guide. For more help on the game, you can check out our detailed Animal Crossing: New Horizons wiki guides.
