Praise the Traveler! A new six-man matchmaking activity has made its way to Destiny 2. The activity, Override, kind of works similar to the ‘Contact’ PE with a few new additions. In this Destiny 2 guide, we’ve shared all the info. needed to complete the new Override activity, claim the associated triumphs, and earn the rewards at the end.
Destiny 2 Season of the Splicer Override
As mentioned earlier, Override is the new 6-man seasonal activity in Season of the Splicer. As of right now, the activity is only available on Europa but will also become available on the Moon and the Tangled Shore in the later weeks. The following is an overview of how Override works in the game:
Override has a total of three steps – opening the portal, jumping puzzle, defeating the boss.
After the activity begins, continue to clear adds in the area. Things like Warmind Cells, Salvager’s Salvo, etc. work great here. Defeated enemies drop Motes that need to be deposited at the terminal – remember that depositing ten Motes also spawns in Heavy Ammo.
Continue to deposit Motes until Blockers appear. Defeat the Blockers to create a bunch of Vex blocks at the main terminal – only shoot the red ones to progress. Once all red Vex blocks are destroyed, use the platforms to reach the top of the terminal and hack it. This needs to be done a total of three times with each round containing tougher enemies including Barrier/Overload champions as well.
Once enough Motes have been deposited in the terminal, the Vex portal will open at its place. Jump into the portal and get ready for a jumping puzzle section. It isn’t incredibly tough but it’s important to remember that one player can go forward and pull the rest of the team. There’s also a triumph for completing the entire Override without dying.
After the jumping puzzle, interact with the spire to start the boss fight. The boss of the Europa’s Override is a Wyvern named Tacticus, Subjugated Mind. It’s a quite straightforward boss fight but since Wyverns are annoying to deal with in general, it can get a little frustrating. Someone running Divinity can help the entire team a lot.
Remember that the boss can’t be nuked – kind of like bosses from last season’s activity, Battlegrounds. Continue to damage the boss until it goes immune. Once that happens, find a champion in the area, kill it to grab the orb, and deposit it at the terminal. Repeat until the boss dies.
There will be two chests at the end – a normal chest and one that requires a keycard slotted in the Splicer Gauntlet.
This is all we’ve got in how to complete the Override in Destiny 2 Season of the Splicer. Feel free to check out our detailed Season of the Splicer wiki guides for more help on the game.
