In this guide, we’ll take the Recon by Fire Mission apart, detail by detail, giving you all the tips and tricks you can use when approaching it. So, without any further ado, let’s get into it.

So far, in your pursuit for Hassan, you’ve had operations on Mexico and US borders. In this mission, however, you’ll be thrown into Spain to uncover the operations that Hassan has been brewing so far.

In the process, you’ll encounter many enemies, but stealth is a core element in this mission, so keep a check on your movements at all times, don’t make any hasty moves, and be focused at all costs.

Recon by Fire Walkthrough

You’ll start off with Price and Laswell by your side. Open up your scope and move forward steadily. After a while, Price will tell you to take out certain enemies, so do that as stealthily as possible. A sewer tunnel will appear, which you will need to cross. After that, a few enemies will be roaming around, scanning the area. Lie down and follow Price as you two move forward slowly.

Once Price tells you to, kill one of the people in front of you and follow Price to the building ahead. You’ll need to equip your heartbeat scanner to look for people in the building.

Clear the Warehouses

Once done, enter the building and lie down next to Price. There, you’ll see a sea of enemies roaming around. So, take your time and scan the whole place. Look for walking patterns that the enemies are taking.

The following will be challenging, as you’ll need to exterminate the whole area in stealth. To do this, you’ll need to look for spots where the guards aren’t being watched by other guards.

First, you’ll need to kill the guards that are standing alone. After that, you’ll need to eliminate the two guards standing next to each other with the help of Price. Lastly, you’ll need to kill the trio, which may seem tricky to do in stealth, but just requires you to move in a position where you can take two out with one bullet.

After all that, a vehicle will approach your site. So, keep a low profile by hiding in the grass or lying down. Wait for them to leave, then move ahead towards the supply warehouses. Once you reach the warehouses, open them using the C4 Brachers from your inventory. A bunch of enemies will come rushing out, so take them out one by one, clearing the area.

Once done, search white containers and try to find places to hide, as five cars will be approaching your area soon. So, once they do, get ready and clear them out. After all, head to the next warehouse and enter it with C4 Brachers again. Similarly, take out all the enemies and investigate the tables and the papers on top of them.

Head to the Lighthouse

Find Price outside the warehouse and head towards the lighthouse, but approach it with stealth as you will need to kill enemies quietly once again. Start off by killing the guards that are standing alone. Then, take out the duos with Price and kill the trios using the same technique discussed above.

This will once again end in vehicles approaching you guys. So, lay down and hide in the grass to avoid any kind of combat here. Once they pass by, head into the lighthouse and clear out the garage swarming with enemies.

Clear Out the House

At last, you’ll be met with a house in front of you once you are done with the lighthouse. Use C4 from your inventory to open the doors on the front. Then, take out the enemies that will be wearing heavy armor. If you find it hard to kill them, try headshots only.

Finally, head to the laundry room and move the washing machine aside. There, you’ll see a tunnel. Enter it and follow Price.

Once out of there, Laswell will call you, asking for help. Locate her in the boat ahead and aim for the enemies surrounding her. Try to kill as many as possible, but know she’ll be taken hostage anyway. Once she is, then head back to Price, and this will end the mission.

Snaking in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, is not like it used to be in earlier Call of Duty games — it is more of a glitch now. In order to snake in MW2, you need to make sure that you are behind some cover, switch between prone/crouch, and continue to repeat it. After getting the timing down, you will need to work on your aim. If done correctly, you will easily be able to land your shots — the opponent, on the other hand, will see you head-glitching.

Sadly, as of right now, there is no way to ‘Prestige’ in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. While not confirmed, there are a couple of features i.e., Prestige, Hardcore, etc. that will be added with the release of Season 1 on Nov. 16, 2022.

While the ability to Prestige is not available in Call of Duty: MW2, there are still a bunch of things to do. These include:

Coming out of a campaign in Mexico on the USA border, you were introduced to Alejandro Vargas and Rodolfo, two new characters who reached out to the special Mexican force trying to capture Hassan. Right after that fifth campaign comes this one which starts with our main characters Rudy, Ghost, and Soup, along with Alejandro’s Los Vaqueros tracking down Hassan, who was last found in Las Almas under Cartel’s safety.

In this region, Cartel is disturbed by Mexican troops, who are in his pockets. Not only that, but these special forces also joined hands with Soap and Ghost in helping them pursue Hassan.

Cartel Protection Walkthrough

The first step which needs to be carried out is retrieving Hassan from Cartel’s protection. Right after you get control of Soap, move in with your team while searching the silent streets. However, these silent streets are deceiving and full of enemies hiding and taking cover to attack you when you lower your guard.

Make a note of that and proceed to the white door, killing all enemies that come by. Once you’re done clearing the 1st-floor, get out of the house through the kitchen and search the other houses nearby. Try using a Sniper Rifle during this, which might make it much easier for you. Head inside, kill all the enemies, load your gun with ammo, and leave once done.

As expected, Hassan won’t be in those houses, and the Mexican strike team who are under Cartel’s control, will most probably start shooting your team. When they do so, just Halt and do not engage until army soldiers get near.

Next to a window, you’ll see RAPP H (an A.R gun). After equipping it, start an open fire on the enemy. Run and jump through the window Alejandro goes through when the Gas Bomb comes your way. Once you’re done engaging, use grenades and aim for the head while shooting.

Unfortunately, the army will spot you as you escape down the mountains. However, take cover from trees and rocks until the enemy catches up to you. Keep note of Alejandro’s movements and follow him even if the enemies find you on the cliff.

Once on the cliff, jump down in the water and quickly swim towards the bridge. You might want to use rocks to take cover from the land and dive down towards the tree after clearing out the area. Once you’re done killing all the enemies, slowly move towards the bridge and halt. Then, just wait until the Airstrike support takes the bridge down. Here, the mission will end, and you’ll be on your way with Alejandro.

Although this mission might seem easy and simple, you will die a few times if your shooting precision isn’t above amateur level. Hopefully, this guide will lead you to the correct directions in the city to complete this mission the fastest way possible. To unlock the FSS Hurricane, you’ll need to grind a little. To begin, reach Level 13 with M4 to get the FTAC Recon. After you’ve acquired the FTAC Recon, you’ll need to reach Level 16 with it to get the FSS Hurricane. Also, since it’s a part of the M4 Family, it’s unlocked from the get-go for people with the Vault Edition.

• Barrel: FSS-X7 Barrel
• Underbarrel: VX Pineapple Vert Grip
• Stock: Assault-60 Stock Factor
• Rear Grip: Sakin ZX Grip
• Optic: Cronen Mini Red Dot

Needless to say but using an ‘Optic’ is optional. In its place, you can use XTEN Razor Compensator or 4MW Laser Box.

Combine this with Stim Shot for a constant stream of healing that should allow you to do more gunfights. As for Ghost and Dead Silence, these are just incredibly powerful tools. Lastly, you can go for whatever feels better in the ‘Weapon Tuning’ section.

How To Complete “Open Air” Mission

Open Air is the 7th mission of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2. You’re gonna have to scan the friendlies using thermal vision and spot the lazers given by the soldiers. When that has been executed, now is the time to find Hassan.

Find Hassan

You can find Hassan by using thermal vision. Look for any target with armed guards. When you find him, he’ll enter a car, and that car will be taken to the greenhouse. You won’t see what’s inside the greenhouse unless you turn off thermal vision. After looking into the greenhouse, you’ll be able to open fire, but you must only fire armed shoulders. Also, you’ll have to take note of the distance between the aircraft and the ground because there will be a delay between shooting the bullet and it hitting the ground. After you’ve successfully eliminated all the armed soldiers, the team on the ground will take care of the stable.

Clear The Green House

Once all the enemies have been eliminated, and the stable has been taken care of, you must search the greenhouse for Hassan. If he’s not there, that’s a sign for you to clear out the Green House, whichever way you prefer.

Clear the Compound

The only building left to destroy is the compound. First, shoot at the water container, so the enemies outside the compound are dealt with. After doing so, kill any remaining enemies attacking your team on the ground. After that’s done, switch LTM and break down the compound door. Take care of all the enemies outside until your team enters the building. When everyone has entered the building, eliminate the enemies leaving the compound. After all the enemies have been killed, your team will leave the building with the target, and the mission will be over.

As the name suggests, this mission involves crossing the US/Mexico border. You’ll be engaging with many civilians that you’ll have to avoid hurting. Mainly, your focus will be a specific target that you’ll be looking to capture, Major Hassan Zyani. Leaving Price and Gaz behind, in this mission, you’ll have Colonel Alejandro and Rodolfo, under Laswell’s command, as your partners.

Borderline Walkthrough

Being dropped in the middle of a jungle, your first task would be to find Rodolfo and follow him through to the US/Mexico border wall. So, keep a steady pace and lock yourself with Rodolfo. As soon as you start to see the border wall, turn off your light and keep a steady stance, as you’ll be approaching enemy lines, so keeping a low profile should be your main focus in the meantime.

You’ll start to see a bunch of enemies ahead, who you’ll have to kill to get to the wall. Once you do so, climb the wall to get to the other side. There you’ll see a suburban site with houses everywhere. However, don’t get distracted and follow Alejandro quietly. After a while, you’ll be near a house fence. Here, you’ll need to wait for Alejandro to open the door. Once he does, you’ll be met with hostile civilians trying to provoke you, but keep calm and avoid conflict.

After a while, you’ll be near an Alleyway. Here, you’ll need to switch off your flashlight to avoid any kind of attention from the guys in the pick-up truck. Hide behind the van beside you, wait for the guys to appear from the second pick-up truck, and kill them as they do. After that, you’ll be headed into a house behind Alejandro, where you’ll need to exterminate any civilian with a gun posing a threat to your mission. Once through the house, you’ll be met with police.

Conceal your weapons and do as the police say, steadily moving towards them, but keep your guards up as the police car will blow up at any moment, revealing a surprise cartel wave coming towards you. Hide behind vans and exterminate the appearing cartel waves, but keep advancing towards the house. Once inside the house, clear the first and second floors crawling with cartel enemies. Once the enemy is clear, locate the second door to the left of the second floor, and enter it. This will move into a cut scene where Hassan and his men blow up the house, ending the mission.

Borderline, the fifth mission in COD MW II, brings a lot of action and stealth. The first part of the mission mainly depends on successful stealth, where you want to be as quiet as possible. Always follow Alejandro and keep moving forward to avoid being stuck in one place. Afterward, keep close to your partners and exterminate the enemy with full force when the mission goes haywire.
