Skater XL Stuttering, Crash, And Fixes

Skater XL is a skateboarding game with physics-based gameplay to scratch that itch that skateboarding fans have been having for years. While the game has finally launched on PC, it’s still facing errors and issues like Application Load Error 3:0000065432, crash at launch, no audio, stuttering, low FPS, and more.

The following are all of the errors and issues that players are experiencing with the game along with their fixes and workarounds.

Application Load Error 3:0000065432 Fix

Skater XL players are reporting that they are unable to play the game thanks to Application Load Error 3:0000065432. There are a couple of simple fixes for this error. The first one is simple, just verify game files and the error should be fixed.

If the Skater XL Application Load Error 3:0000065432 continues to persist then your anti-virus might be the culprit. Either disable your anti-virus or make exclude the Skater XL’s folder from it. After that, verify game files and the Application Load Error 3:0000065432 will be fixed for good.

Crash Fix

Skater XL players are reporting that the game is crashing randomly while playing. Here is what might be causing the Skater XL to crash and how to fix it.

One reason for the game to crash could be mods. Uninstall any mods you have installed and the game will stop crashing. Go to your Steam folder and navigate to Steam\steamapps\common\Skater XL\Mods. Delete the mod files and Skater XL will stop crashing.

One reason for the game to crash at startup is the lack of admin rights. Right-click the game’s exe > properties > Compatibility tab > check “run this program as administrator”. Apply the change and launch the game. It won’t crash at launch.

If the players are experiencing the performance issues after an update then its the mods that are causing the stuttering and low FPS with Skater XL.

Go to your Steam folder and navigate to Steam\steamapps\common\Skater XL\Mods. Delete all mod files and launch the game. It won’t stutter anymore and the FPS issue will be fixed.

In case the above scenario doesn’t apply, start the game disable in-game v.sync then close the game. Open Nvidia Control Panel > Manage 3d Settings > Program Settings > select Skater XL and make the following changes.

Anti-aliasing-FXAA – “Off”
Anti-aliasing-Gamma Correction – “Off”
CUDA GPUs – “All”
Low Latency Mode – Player’s choice.
Set Power Management to “Prefer Maximum Performance”
Shader Cache – “On” only if you are using an HDD. Don’t need to enable it for an SSD.
Set Texture filtering – Quality to “High Performance”
Triple Buffering – “Off”
Set Vertical Syn to “On”

Apply these settings and after that, low FPS and stuttering should be fixed in Skater XL.

If the stuttering still persists, follow the steps mentioned above but, set Vertical Syn to “Fast”. This will not only fix stuttering but, will also give a potential FPS boost if players have a moderate CPU and GPU.
