Warframe has been out for a while but there are still a few errors and issues that PC players are facing like Error 10054, crash at startup, disk write error, random crashes, stuttering, and more. In this Warframe error fixes guide, we are going to go over how you can fix errors like bad image, update failed, login failed, and disk write error to name a few.
Warframe Crash, Stuttering, And Fixes
Warframe is currently, at the time of writing, the best free-to-play game in the market. Not only the devs have been releasing new content continuously but they have also been upgrading the game itself.
It’s been years since the game released and devs are supporting it ever since. One would assume that the game errors and issue will be fixed but, that’s not the case. Warframe PC players are reporting errors and issues like Error 10054, game crashing, disk write error, the game not launching, MSVCP140.dll Missing, and more
The following are the errors and issues that players are experiencing along with their fixes and workarounds.
Error 10054 Fix
Error 10054 is one of the Warframe errors that players are experiencing. The Error 10054 is related to the router settings and can be easily fixed. Start Warframe and go to the Options > Gameplay menu and note down the UDP network port.
Open your router settings and go to the NAT – Port Triggering Setup. Register the ports that you note down from the game and the Warframe Error 10054 will be fixed for good.
If you don’t know how to register the ports then changing the router will also fix the error.
An Error Has Occurred Fix
According to Warframe PC players, when they launch the game it crashes with the error message, An Error Has Occurred. This error is popping up due to outdated GPU drivers. Update the GPU drivers and the issue will be fixed.
Game Not Launching, Crash At Startup Fix
Warframe crashing at startup is another issue that players are experiencing. There are multiple reasons why Warframe Crash At Startup or not launching issue is popping up and here are the fixes.
One fix is to give the game admin rights. To do that, Right-Click on the game’s exe > properties > Compatibility tab > check “run this program as an administrator”. Apply the change and the issue will be fixed.
If the game is still crashing at launch then your anti-virus/Windows Security might be blocking important game files. Either disable the anti-virus of excluding the game’s install folder from it. This varies from anti-virus to anti-virus but for Windows Security, open Windows Security > Virus & Threat Protection > click “Manage Settings” under “Virus & Threat Protection settings”. Just disable the “Real-Time Protection”.
To exclude the folder, Windows Security > Virus & Threat Protection > click “Add or remove exclusions” under “Exclusions” > click “Add an exclusion” > select “Folder”. Navigate to Warframe’s install folder and add it. After that, verify the game files and the issue will be fixed.
Another reason for Warframe to crash at startup could be that you haven’t updated your Windows 10 OS. Update the OS and the game won’t crash anymore at launch.
MSVCP140.dll Missing Fix
Players are reporting that then they launch Warframe they the “MSVCP140.dll is missing” error. This can be easily fixed as players just need to install the latest Microsoft Visual C+++ Redistributables, both x86 and x64 versions. This will fix the error.
Alternatively, players can manually download the file from the internet and place it in the game’s folder. However, I don’t recommend it as it can potentially put your system at risk.
Bad Image Or Update Failed Error Fix
This is a common error that players face while playing Warframe. What you need to do is open Add and Remove Programs. Type “Visual” in the search bar and you will find several versions of Microsoft Visual C++ 20XX. If you do not find them you will need to install them. This is why you are getting this error.
If you do find them then you will need to repair them. This takes a few seconds so you can repair all of them in a few minutes.
Once the repairs are done, run command prompt as administrator and type “sfc /scannow” without the quotes. This will make sure that everything is in order. Now you need to restart your PC. Run the game now and it should work fine.
Network Not Responding
If you are getting this error then you need to check your internet connection. If you are using Wi-Fi then you should try using a wired internet connection instead.
Try restarting your PC or console and restarting your router. You should also check if your anti-virus or firewall is blocking the game from connecting to the internet. If the issue remains the last resort is to contact your internet provider.
Crash Fix
If Warframe is crashing randomly then make sure that your system meets the requirements of the game. If it does then you should update your drivers to make sure that you have the latest version installed.
You should then verify the game files. To do that you need to open the launcher and go into the settings menu. After that follow the steps below:
- Click on the little gear in the upper right of the Warframe launcher
- Click Verify, and then wait until the process is completed
- After you have verified the cache, please click Optimize
If this does not work then you can try lowering the settings of the game or disabling some of the settings. You can disable DirectX 11 from the launcher settings. The following are some other settings that you can also tweak:
- Geometry Detail
- Particle System Quality
- GPU Particles
- Shadow Quality
- Texture Memory
- Anisotropic Filtering
- Anti-aliasing
You can also try to close programs running in the background that might interfere with the game. The following are some programs that can cause issues when trying to play Warframe:
- Baidu IME
- Raptr overlay
- Lucid VirtuWatt software
- Razer Synapse Program
- Razer Chroma SDK
- Rivatuner Statistics Server
- MSI Afterburner OSD

Login Failed. Check Your Info
If you are getting this error then the following is what the devs advise you to do:
- Check if your router does not have its firewall active.
- Add an exception in your firewall and antivirus to the Launcher.exe, Warframe.x64.exe and Warframe.exe.
- Check your proxy settings by going to Windows control panel and searching for Internet options and then on the Connections tab > LAN settings and make sure use automatic configuration script and proxy server are Unchecked.
- Optionally, you could go to the Advanced tab while in Internet options and click “Restore Advanced Settings” and “Reset” — you will have to reboot again if you choose this option.
- Make sure to disable any VPN or Proxy software.
If this does not work then you can use Spot Flux. You can download the free version to get the game running but you will need to have this running whenever you want to play the game which can be a bit annoying.
An Error Occurred While Updating Warframe (Disk Write Error)
According to Warframe Players, they are getting the Disk Write Error while updating the game or downloading the game. The following are the fixes for the Warframe Disk Write Error.
The first fix is simple. Right-click on Steam.exe > “Properties” > “Compatibility” tab > check “Run this program as an administrator”. Apply the setting and error should be resolved.
In case the error persists, open CMD and run it as an administrator. Use the following commands and press enter after each of them.

attributes disk clear readonly.
If the error is still isn’t fixed, then go to Steam/logs/content_log. Scroll down and look for “failed to write”. Open the file and it has paths to some corrupted files. Follow the path and delete these files and the game will install/update. One of these fixes will surely get rid of the Disk Write Error for you.
How To Get 60 FPS, Stuttering Fix
Performance is often an issue with PC video games and Warframe is no exception. Players are experiencing low FPS and stuttering issues while playing Warframe. First, make sure you have installed the latest GPU driver and there is no background process using too much of CPU, GPU, or HDD.
Launch the game and disable in-game v.sync and then close the game. Then, open Nvidia Control Panel > Manage 3D Settings > Program Settings > select the game. Make the following changes.
Anti-aliasing-FXAA – “Off”
Anti-aliasing-Gamma Correction – “Off”
CUDA GPUs – “All”
Low Latency Mode – depends on the player.
Set Power Management to “Prefer Maximum Performance”
Shader Cache – “On” only if you are using an HDD. Don’t need to enable it for an SSD.
Set Texture filtering – Quality to “High Performance”
Triple Buffering – “Off”
Set Vertical Syn to “On”
Apply these changes and you should see a noticeable improvement to the game’s frame rate. In case stuttering or Low FPS issue continues to persist, then set Vertical Syn to “Fast”. Apply this change and not only stuttering will be fixed but, players might also see a significant boost in FPS.
