Honey, I Joined A Cult Is Out Now On Steam

Team17 and Sole Survivor Games have today launched the cult management sim Honey, I Joined a Cult into version 1.0. Placing players as the architect of their very own cult, they will design every aspect to the cult leader’s exacting standards, building everything from energy spas to spirit chambers, ensuring their would-be followers have everything they need on their journey to enlightenment. Running a successful cult is no mean feat, players will need to balance cultists’ happiness, handle meddling outsiders, and manage their leader’s inflated ego to keep things running smoothly, their followers devoted, and profits up.

Update 1.0 includes interactive police raids and protests, a difficulty selection system, a help manual, a carpeting system, steam cards, and achievements, alongside new in-game content and customization options, balancing improvements, and quality of life changes. The full launch also introduces free DLC available for all players who own Honey, I Joined a Cult before 10th November (including all purchases made throughout early access) and features cosmetics from other Team17 published titles, including The Escapists, The Survivalists, the Worms franchise, Blasphemous, Yooka-Laylee, and Narita Boy.

During its time in Steam Early Access, Honey, I Joined a Cult received major content updates that increased the variety of cults and significantly expanded its game mechanics. The Peace & Love update introduced six new themed rooms, two brand-new endings to explore, new outfits, and a rework of the tutorial and prestige system. In March 2022, the Futurist Update took Honey I Joined a Cult to the final frontier, introducing new themed rooms, special characters and missions, new items, and updates to the Divine Inspiration and Research Tech trees.

Honey, I Joined A Cult key features:

  • Exploit your followers: Strange and exciting quack therapies offer great opportunities to extract cash from the gullible.
  • Take full control of a funky cult: Recruit cultists to maintain the organization’s smooth operation; keep them entertained and happy to grow your money and influence.
  • Build ‘freaky deaky’ bases: Build the cult from the ground up and design the layout from ‘hypno-chambers’ and bathrooms to monoliths and bedrooms.
  • Branch out into the community: Send minions out to spread the good word, or just get them to steal fancy items for your cult HQ.
  • Stick it to ‘The Man’: Overcome threats from law enforcement, oppressive government bodies, and misinformed protesters.
  • Get down with deities: Choose where your cult’s heading – world peace or the second coming of the Squid Lord?

Team17 and Ghost Town Games have today launched the World Food Festival update for chaotic cooking game Overcooked! All You Can Eat, available now on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC. The update welcomes an additional 10 new levels across three new themes (The Metro Mash, Baked Bazaar, and Pepper Plaza) where chefs will rustle up two brand new recipes – chicken bobotie and paneer curry – along with returning favorites with a twist to keep hungry customers at bay.

Two new chefs are taking to the kitchen as part of the update (the community requested fox chef and the globe chef with its alternative fish chef skin) together with a new gameplay mechanic that pastiches modern app-based food delivery services and causes service to grind to a halt until waiting takeaway orders are completed and sent on their way.

A series of additional accessibility and assist options are also available with the free update, welcoming chefs of every ability into the Overcooked! All You Can Eat kitchens. The new and improved assist mode is accessible at any point and offers up the ability to skip levels; increase order and level timers; increase recipe scores; toggle order times on/off; shorten player respawn times; make food harder to burn; turn off burning entirely, and several other options allowing players to customize their gameplay.

Overcooked! All You Can Eat Key Features:

  • Every mouthful: Includes every piece of Overcooked! and Overcooked! 2 content, remastered and available in 60 frames per second (30fps on Nintendo Switch) in up to 4K resolution
  • Exclusive new kitchens & cooks: New levels, new chefs, and additional skins for every single chef – all exclusive to Overcooked! All You Can Eat
  • Cooking for all: Accessibility options and a new assist mode opens the game to more players than ever before
  • Multiple multiplayer courses: Levels originally from Overcooked! are playable with online multiplayer support for the very first time, with every Overcooked! All You Can Eat kitchen also featuring cross-play functionality!

Moving Out 2 Coming 2023

Team17 has today announced Moving Out 2, the sequel to the 2020 award-winning couch moving, couch co-op game from SMG Studio and DevM Games. Launching in 2023 on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC, Moving Out 2 will take players back to the breakneck, breakback (and ‘break-knee’) world of Smooth Moves’ Furniture Arrangement and Relocation Technicians (F.A.R.Ts), as they pack furniture, technology, and everything including the kitchen sink across increasingly bizarre locales, with increasingly deadly challenges.

Moving Out 2 will see the introduction of online co-operative, cross-play enabled gameplay to the series, allowing F.A.R.Ts around the world to team up and creatively move furniture from point A to point B and beyond! Announced during Gamescom’s Opening Night Live, Moving Out 2 will again feature a cast of bizarre unlockable characters as they traverse different dimensions in the pursuit of seamless and (sometimes) breakage-free home removals, across more than 50 new levels and challenges.

Moving Out 2 Key Features

  • Co-op Continued: Players can either take on Moving Out 2 solo, or with friends (or enemies) in both couch and cross-play enabled online co-op.
  • Location, location, location: 50+ new levels offer up interesting and hazardous challenges for the F.A.R.Ts to pit their moving prowess against.
  • Physics: Gravity is both a cruel mistress and a F.A.R.T’s best friend; use it to get items to where they need to go faster… but maybe not in one piece.
  • Crazy characters: Featuring a whole new host of smooth movers, Moving Out 2 showcases entirely new characters that will both enchant and horrify.
  • Assist mode: Movers of all abilities are welcome in Packmore; with Assist Mode, the possibilities (and fun) are endless, and inclusive!

Team17 Signs Metroidvania Bullet Hell The Knight Witch

Team17 has today announced their partnership with Super Awesome Hyper Dimensional Mega Team (aka ‘Super Mega Team’) to publish upcoming Metroidvania, The Knight Witch. Combining fast-paced shoot ‘em up combat with Metroidvania traversal and exploration alongside a magic deckbuilding system, The Knight Witch takes players to the underground city of Dungeonidas.

The once peaceful metropolis has been besieged by a mysterious threat and its unrelenting army of war golems. Here it falls to the protagonist – Rayne – to be named a Knight Witch and use her powers to fight back and save those she loves. The Knight Witch will launch on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC in 2022.

With over 30 unique spell cards to choose from in a magic deck-building system and Knight abilities to upgrade and improve, players can customize Rayne’s build to fit their playstyle, taking down the invading golems in the most effective way.

Like other Knight Witches, Rayne thrives off the love and adoration of Dungeonidas’ citizens, growing ever stronger with their continued support – players can choose to capitalize on this, lying to the adoring denizens for their own means, or they can be honest, sharing the painful truth to the masses.

Key Features:

  • Shoot ‘Em Up Spellcasting Sorcery: Encounter evil foes and choose whether to wield Rayne’s magic or use her weapons and wits to take them down.
  • Body and Mind: The Knight Witch Duality: Customize Rayne’s unique playstyle, upgrading Knight abilities for a more fast-paced shoot ‘em up experience, or strengthen Witch magic and explore different deck-building strategies with over 30 unique spells cards to choose from.
  • Build Trust & Make Lasting Bonds: Become stronger with gratitude and trust and can earn it in many ways, not all of which are sincere – the choice to choose popularity over honesty lies in the player’s hands.
  • Forward-Thinking Accessibility: Designed as a Metroidvania without barriers; with an intuitive on/off ‘auto-aim’ system, world-altering ‘cheats’ and a focused main story navigation system – players will never get lost and can tailor the game to their level of play.
  • Super Mega Team: The Knight Witch is brought to you by a veteran team of developers behind titles such as RiME, Moonlighter, and Plants VS Zombies.

The game is currently available to Wishlist on Steam. Let us know what you think about it and whether or not you are interested in checking it out.
