CD PROJEKT RED, creators of The Witcher series of games, Cyberpunk 2077, and GWENT: The Witcher Card Game, sincerely invite gamers and media representatives to Lucca, Italy for the annual Comics & Games 2022 festival, during which the studio will host a number of activities themed around the studio’s titles, as well as its history.
Taking place from October 28th until November 1st, the Comics & Games 2022 festival will once again see the city of Lucca turned into a capital of gaming and comic book pop culture. This year, CD PROJEKT RED will be joining the event as part of the studio’s 20th Anniversary Celebration.
Activities organized by the Polish video game development company will be held at Villa Bottini. The garden will serve as a teleport to Toussaint, which players had the chance to explore in Blood & Wine, the second of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’s expansions.
Visitors will be able to participate in an immersive Witcher-themed treasure hunt, take part in various crafting activities, as well as join in on other attractions, all brought to life with the help of experienced live-action role-playing professionals and cosplayers. Moving inside the villa, CD PROJEKT RED will be hosting a special exhibition showcasing many rare and never-before-seen artifacts spanning 20 years of the studio’s game-making history, as well as a Cyberpunk 2077 & The Witcher art gallery displaying historically inspired works from across both franchises. A variety of panels with invited guests from CD PROJEKT RED will also be taking place throughout the event. You can buy tickets for the event from the official website.
Lucca Comics & Games 2022 will also be hosting an evening filled with music from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and its expansions. The concert will take place at Palazzetto Dello Sport on a technologically advanced stage, and will be conducted by Eimear Noone — the first woman ever to conduct at the Academy Awards. Tracks will be performed by musicians from the Fiesole’s Orchestra Giovanile Italiana (the Italian Youth Orchestra), accompanied by the Polish folk metal band Percival Schuttenbach.
On October 29th, CD PROJEKT RED will host an official Community Party for invited members of the studio’s community to talk, meet with REDs, and find a relaxing ending to an otherwise excitingly busy event day.
