AMD Ryzen 7000 series CPUs have been announced including the Ryzen 9 7950X, Ryzen 9 7900X, Ryzen 7 7700X & Ryzen 5 7600X. These new CPUs are based on the Zen 4 and the 5nm process. Here is what you need to know about them.

AMD Ryzen 7000 Announced
The pricing of the AMD Ryzen 7000 series CPUs is as follows:
- Ryzen 9 7950X – $699 US
- Ryzen 9 7900X – $549 US
- Ryzen 7 7700X – $399 US
- Ryzen 5 7600X – $299 US
The pricing is very interesting indeed keeping in mind that Intel 13th gen Raptor Lake chips are around the corner as well. But until we get the pricing of the Intel CPUs, there is nothing concrete that we can say. We did spot listings of the upcoming Intel chips and the following is the pricing that we know of so far:
- i9-13900K – $940.99 Canadian (735 USD)
- i9-13900KF – $900.99 Canadian (694 USD)
- i7-13700KF – $625.99 Canadian (482 USD)
- i7-13700K – $662.99 Canadian (511 USD)
- i5-13600K – $460.99 Canadian (355 USD)
- i5-13600KF – $423.99 Canadian (326 USD)
Note that these prices have not been confirmed by Intel and could change at launch. If they are to be taken to heart then they are very competitive indeed. The lower price of the AMD Ryzen 7000 series CPUs would make sense keeping in mind that consumers would need to upgrade to the AM5 platform and will also need to buy DDR5 memory.

The AMD Ryzen 9 7950X is up to 32% faster in content creation and up to 42% in gaming compared to the previous generation. The mid-range AMD Ryzen 5 7600X is 5% faster in games as compared to the competition.
The AMD Ryzen 7000 series CPUs will be available starting September 27th. We spotted the AMD B650E chipset that supports PCIe Gen5 for storage and graphics cards. The chipset has now been updated on the official AMD site. X Series motherboards will be available in September but B650 and B650E motherboards will be available in October.
Just like the AM4 socket has been relevant for 6 years, AMD confirmed that AM5 is going to be around at least until 2025. So you can buy now and upgrade later without having to change your motherboard.
