The official announcement of the AMD Ryzen 7000 series is around the corner and as we get closer to launch we keep getting more and more information regarding these upcoming CPUs. We have got some AMD Ryzen 7000 series CPU price listings that reveal that the processors aren’t cheap.
Note: The Prices mentioned below are in Canadian Dollars and have been converted to USD for estimation. The final USD pricing may vary.
AMD Ryzen 7000 Series CPUs Price
The following are the prices of the different AMD Ryzen 700 series CPUs in Candian Dollars:
- AMD Ryzen 9 7950X (Tray) – $1140.99 (893 USD)
- AMD Ryzen 9 7900X (Tray) – $777.99 (608 USD)
- AMD Ryzen 7 7700X (Tray) – $613.99 (479 USD)
- AMD Ryzen 5 7600X (Tray) – $423.99 (331 USD)
Tray means that you only get the CPU for the price. The cooler and the box are not included in the price.
For comparison’s sake, the Intel Core i9-12900K is available for around 589 USD. The Intel Core i7-12700K and Intel Core i5-12600K are available for 399.99 USD and 279.98 USD respectively.
If you want the box too then the following is the pricing in Canadian Dollars:
- AMD Ryzen 9 7950X – $1158 (906 USD)
- AMD Ryzen 9 7900X – $798 (624 USD)
- AMD Ryzen 7 7700X – $631 (493 USD)
- AMD Ryzen 5 7600X – $435 (340 USD)
Since these are X series CPUs, they do not come with coolers out of the box and you will need to buy one separately. So do keep that in mind. According to reports, these CPUs will have a higher TDP compared to the previous generation as well. The following is the TDP breakdown:
- Ryzen 9 7950X – 170W
- Ryzen 9 7900X – 170W
- Ryzen 7 7700X – 105W
- Ryzen 5 7600X – 105W
Take these prices with a grain of salt as they could change ahead of launch. AMD will supposedly make things official on Gamescom 2022 which is just a few days away. Asus has also confirmed that it will showcase the new AM5 motherboards at the event.

No way in hell am I paying those prices + DDR5 + AM5. I’m going back to Intel where I can use DDR4 still, existing LGA1700, and they have much more reasonable pricing.
I think once we are into 2023, we should get mkre consumer oriented SKUs. These the the top-tier CPU prices. You will still need to pay for AM5 mobo and DDR5 RAM though.
And you won’t need to buy a new motherboard for the next generations of CPU, unlike with Intel who have around 2 generations of CPU then a new board needed and they are cranking out new CPU gens every year, right now.
Keep my rysen 7 5800x ddr4 and rx6900xt for the next 1 year more until the new am5 ddr5 and new cpu/gou down the price.
That’s pretty bold, although I truly believe AMD will give AM5 quite a long life. Let’s not forget they’re also going to perform extremely well and go head to head with Intel’s 13th gen, which is also getting a price hike. When comparing prices to last gen let’s keep things in perspective
Okay, I may not buy a 7950, If I was on the Ryzen 5 platform but these prices aren’t that bad! I also bought first gen Ryzen and SLI 1080s. My 1080s finally tanked so I’m doing a full build regardless. I’m super excited for these, I’m really hoping they talk about the V-Cache chips at gamescom that would be the only deciding factor on putting off buying in immediately. If the 3D is a month or 2 later than the initial drop I’ll buy a board and ram and wait it out!
I have amd phenom pc from 2007 and its time for new one so for me its fine and i think that ill buy 7000 series
There isn’t a direct correlation between the prices and exchange rates or the CPUs in Canada prices would change daily, the Canadian prices above are less than what the 5000 series MSRPs where here in Canada when they launched (I got a 5600x for $479 CAD in Feb 2021 from a wholesale distributer) So $479 in Canada at the time $299 in the US.
