PlayStation 5 And Xbox Scarlett’s Ray Tracing Implemtion Is Completely Different Than Nvidia RTX GPUs

With Nvidia introducing real-time Ray Tracing with its RTX GPUs, more and more devs are including this feature to the PC version of their games. This eventually led to Sony and Microsoft confirming real-time ray tracing support for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Scarlett. However, next-gen consoles have a very different implementation of it.

This is according to a Gizmodo insider, who recently reported a leak regarding next-gen consoles. Reportedly, both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Scarlett feature different techniques to implement real-time ray tracing. It seems like the source did reveal what techniques will be used but Gizmodo refrained from sharing them.

Both PS5 and Xbox Scarlett will use AMD Navi based GPUs. Considering that, it’s understandable that next-gen consoles will use different techniques to implement ray tracing compared to Nvidia RTX GPUs.

However, that isn’t the only thing the report has revealed. Reportedly, PS5 and Xbox Scarlett will see the biggest leap in performance than any console generation. This makes sense since Microsoft has announced that they are targeting a 120 Hz refresh rate, native 4K, and real-time ray tracing support for Xbox Scarlett.

Xbox One came to the market with a mandatory Kinect unit. However, with its abysmal performance, Microsoft decided to drop it and it was quickly forgotten. But according to the report, both Xbox Scarlett and PlayStation 5 feature cameras and apparently Scarlett’s camera is superior. Reportedly, the dev kit features a camera capable of 4K and with 2ms lag.

It goes without saying that this is just a leak, not a confirmation. So, take it with a grain of salt.

Speaking of next-gen consoles, it seems that PS5 will also feature an AI assistant. According to the filed patent, the PlayStation 5 AI assistant will use voice commands to provide gameplay guidance. The AI assistant will pull gameplay videos in response to the player’s command.

A method for gaming assistance. Information related to a plurality of game plays of players for a gaming application is received over a network at a back-end server. A query is received from a first player playing the gaming application, wherein the query is related to first gameplay of the first player. A current game context of the first gameplay of a first player is determined from the information. A response to the query and the current game context is generated based on the information related to the plurality of gameplays. The response is delivered back to a device of the first player.

With so many leaks and official conformations regarding next-gen consoles, it seems that both PS5 and Xbox Scarlett will feature huge leaps in gaming performance.

Destiny 2 Banshee 44 Exotic Quest Guide – How to Complete Pain and Gain

Destiny 2 Shadowkeep expansion brings multiple quests, exotic weapons and armor, and quests. One of the exotic quests players will come across is handed out by Banshee-44, Pain and Gain. In our exotic “Pain and Gain” Banshee exotic quests guide we will explain how to complete this quest.

In order to get this quest you first need to speak with sedentary gunsmith: Banshee-44. He will ask you to complete this exotic and reap the rewards. Banshee-44 is going to tell you to tune-up a weapon frame because its “pain matrix” is screwed up. There is a lot of trouble you need to go through but it is all worth it since you get an exotic weapon out of it.

Destiny 2 Banshee-44 Exotic Quest

So, how to complete “Pain and Gain”? The very first thing you need to do to complete Destiny 2 pain and gain Banshee-44 exotic quest is to do your usual everyday activities.  Veteran Destiny players would know what to do but the players who are joining the universe of Destiny via Destiny 2 Shadowkeep, here’s how this goes.

All of the activities you need to complete are mentioned in your objectives section. The first activity takes you to complete a Lost Sector in the EDZ  (European Dead Zone) on Earth. Since you are new to the Destiny franchise, EDZ is on Earth and Lost Sectors are minor dungeons that you must complete to make sure you hit the objective.

How to Complete Pain and Gain Exotic Quest

The Lost Sectors are good to farm items but right now we are looking to get the exotic weapon. We suggest that you complete one of the easiest ones is Terminus East. You can find it right next to the EDZ hub zone, Trostland.  Go northeast from the church and you will find it. Speak with  Devrim Kay there.

The next part of the Destiny 2 Pain and Gain Exotic quest objective is to complete a Heroic public event. This part is a bit tricker than usual. What you need to do is trigger a random activity  and perform special actions to make this activity “Heroic.”

We can turn any random activity into a heroic one but we suggest playing the game till the Tangled Shore, the “Cryo-Pod Defenders” public event is probably an easy public activity to make heroic. The last objective for the Destiny 2 Banshee 44 Exotic Quest is the Nightfall Strike. You can access these tougher variations of three-player Strikes you access from the Vanguard playlist.

Reward: You get the exotic SMG Riskrunner for completing this quest.

This marks the end of our Destiny 2 Banshee-44 Exotic quest “pain and gain” guide. If you need more help with the game check out our Shadowkeep errors, Shadowkeep Edgewisebeginner’s tips and tricks.

Destiny 2 Shadowkeep Edgewise Guide – How To Get The Vanguard Ritual Weapon

Our Destiny 2 Shadowkeep Edgewise guide will help you with how to get the Vanguard Ritual Weapon and the quest required to be completed in order to get it.

How To Get Edgewise

Bungie has retired the pinnacle weapons in Destiny 2 Shadowkeep in favor of Ritual Weapons and Edgewise is one of the Vanguard Ritual Weapons. To acquire this Vanguard Ritual Weapon, go talk to Commander Zavala at the tower.

He’ll offer you a quest “A Loud Racket”. For this quest, you need to complete a series of challenges and the Edgewise will be yours. The challenges that you need to complete are as follows.

  • Get Machine Gun Final Blows and fill the bar to 100%
  • Get Solar Final Blows with any solar weapon and fill the bar to 100%
  • Fill the Points Scored bar by killing enemies. The difficult the strike, the better the bar will progress.

For the last part, I would recommend competing in PvE activities like strikes and nightfalls. As I mentioned above, the higher the difficulty of the activity, the better will be the progression with every kill.

Complete these challenges and the Vanguard Ritual Weapon, Edgewise will be yours to fire at your enemies.

That is all for our Destiny 2 Shadowkeep Edgewise guide with tips on how to get the weapon and the challenges required to complete. For more on Destiny 2 Shadowkeep, also check out our Exit Strategy (Gambit Ritual Weapon) Guide.

Cube World Beginners Guide – How To Level Up, How To Change Class Specialization, Gear And Items

Cube World Beginners Guide will help you with all of the basic things in the game like how to level up, basic controls and tricks to help you survive longer in the game.

Cube World Beginners Guide

Knowing the basics of a game are important and Cube World is no exception. Our Cube World Beginners Guide will help you with basic tips and tricks like leveling up, changing Class Specialization, basic combat controls and tips, and more

How To Level Up

Leveling up is not important in Cube World as you don’t gain any experience from killing monsters in the game. Instead of leveling up your character, focus on your gear and items that help boost your damage and survivability. Leveling up only works to the extent of Artifacts you find in the game but even that isn’t worth anything.

Gear And Items

Another interesting thing about the game is that its gear and items are region locked. Meaning if you find a particular item in a certain region, going to another region will render it unusable. You need to go back to the region from where you found the gear or items to use it.

However, there is gear in Cube World which can be used in other regions. If the gear’s name has + with its name then can be used in the regions of the kingdom from where it was acquired.

Enemy Difficulty

The enemy difficulty is color-coded in Cube World. The name of the enemies will one of the following colors with white being the easiest one and Yellow enemies being the toughest one.

  • White
  • Green
  • Blue
  • Purple
  • Yellow.

Also, focus on easy enemies until you have the gear to take on the tougher enemies.

How To Change Class Specialization

If you want to change your class specialization then go to the town and talk to Guild Receptionist. They are marked as the crown on the map. Just go and talk and you’ll be given the options to change your Class Specialization.

Combat and Controls

Knowing your controls in the most important thing in a video game and Cuber World is no exception. Knowing the right dodge button can be the difference between victory and death. Here is what you need to know about Cube World’s combat controls and general controls.

  • Middle mouse is your default dodge button. Can be remapped in the options.
  • You can climb the walls. Just walk up to a wall and hold E to climb. However, you have limited stamina and need to climb up before your character is fatigued.
  • Use your primary skill with Left-Click, secondary skill with Right-Click and ultimate ability with R.
  • Your Ultimate takes a while to recharge.
  • Your Mana is regenerated automatically and nothing needs to be consumed.
  • Health has to be restored by consuming Life Potion. You can craft the Life Potion.
  • Don’t jump from heights and you’ll receive fall damage.
  • You can use friendly NPCs to help you in combat. Either join them or let them do the work for you and then take the loot.

Exploration

A lot of the time will be spent exploring while playing Cube World. Here are the things that you need to prioritize while exploring in the game.

  • Pick up any resource or item that you can. Useless ones can be sold or used for crafting.
  • Play your flute at a Shrine of Life to change where to spawn after you die. Use this so that you won’t spawn far from the area in which you die.
  • These shrines can be used as fast travel points. But first, you need to play flute once at a shrine to use it for fast travel.
  • Use the lamp by pressing F. Again press the same button to put it away.

Quests

  • Talk to NPCs to get quests and completing them will earn you rewards.
  • Quest difficulty is represented by the color of the location. Quest difficulty is represented with the same colors as enemy difficulty.
  • Always keep an eye for Shrine of Life near the quest marker in case if you die so you can spawn on the shrine.

That is all for our Cube World Beginner’s Guide with tips on how to level up, combat, game controls, and basic tricks.

Cube World Crafting Guide – How To Craft, Types Of Crafting

Cube World is out now and there is a lot that you can do in the game. This Cube World Crafting Guide will help you step-by-step in figuring out how the crafting system works and the different types of crafting in the game. Here is what you need to know.

Cube World Crafting

Crafting is an important part of Cube World as it will allow you to craft items that are essential for your survival. Our Cube World Crafting Guide will help you on how to craft and types of crafting.

How To Craft

Crafting in Cube World requires more than resources, you need to have the required power level and the recipe to craft a certain item. Recipes can be acquired from chests or can be dropped by a mob or a boss.

To use the recipe, it needs to be saved. To save the recipe, it needs to be available in your class and the power required for the recipes needs to be matched with your character’s power level.

Aside from the recipes and resources, you also need to be at a crafting station. For example, if you want to craft a ring, you need to be at an anvil located in the city.

Types of Crafting

There are six types of things that you can craft in Cube World. The following is the list of items that can be crafted in the game.

Weapons
Crafting weapons allows you to craft powerful weapons but you need recipes to craft these powerful weapons in Cube World along with basic items corresponding to a given level.

Armor
You can also craft high-level armor and you also need recipes for high-level armor crafting along with basic items corresponding to a given level.

Amulet
Amulets are more difficult to craft in Cube World. The reason is that as you progress through the game, no new amulets to craft will appear in the crafting menus unless you have recipes. Meaning, only recipes will grant you the ability to craft new and powerful amulets.

Cooking
As the name suggests, Cooking allows you to craft all kinds of food which restore health. The level of the meal itself is tied to the player’s level. Meaning, the higher your power, the better the meal you can prepare. Also, you can’t move while eating.

Alchemy
Alchemy crafting allows you to prepare health potions in Cube World. Health potions restore health and potions can be consumed while moving, unlike food. To craft health potion, you require Heartflower and a bottle of water.

Heart flower grows in the forest. As for the bottled water, Bottle can be acquired from the city and you just need to go to a water source to collect water.

Formulas

Formulas are basically the most basic of crafting resources. In Formulas, you combine resources into the items that you used in Alchemy, Cooking, Amulets, Armor, and Weapons. If you need to collect water for a health potion, you can do so through the Formulas tab while standing close to a water source.

That is all for our Cube World Crafting Guide with tips on how to craft and types on crafting.

Remnant From The Ashes PC Tweaks- How To Get 1080p/60 FPS, Disable VOIP, Performance Boost

Remnant From The Ashes has launched for PC and consoles. While not much of the game can be tweaked on consoles, PC is a very different story. The following are some tweaks for Remnant From The Ashes PC version to get you to that 1080p/60 FPS experience.

How To Get 60 FPS In Remnant From The Ashes

Remnant From The Ashes has it’s fair share of errors and issues, see our errors and fixes guide. However, not all have a high-end system to play a game at 60 FPS at Ultra settings. In my Remnant From The Ashes PC Tweaks guide, I will take you step by step on how you can boost performance and ensure a 1080p/60 FPS experience.

Boost Performance

With so many PC configurations out there, there are bound to be performance issues for some even if the game is optimized. The Following steps will potentially boost Remnant From The Ashes PC performance.

Make sure you are using the latest GPU drivers and that no background process is using too much of your CPU, GPU, or HDD. End the process if it’s using as it’ll cause FPS drops.

First, launch the game turn-off in-game v.sync and then close the game. Then open Nvidia Control Panel > Manage 3D Settings > Program Settings > select Remnant From The Ashes from the list and make the following changes which at least should eliminate stuttering.

Anti-aliasing-FXAA – “Off”
Anti-aliasing-Gamma Correction – “Off”
Anti-aliasing Mode – “Application Controlled”
Anti-aliasing-Transparency – “Off”
CUDA GPUs – “All”
Low Latency Mode – depends on the player, it basically reduces input latency
Max Frame rate – Enable it if you intend to limit FPS. Also, limiting the FPS will reduce GPU Load.
Multi-Frame Sampled AA (MFAA) – “Off”
OpenGL Rendering GPU – “Auto”
Set Power Management to “Prefer Maximum Performance”
Shader Cache – “On” only if you are using an HDD. Don’t need to enable it for an SSD.
Set Texture filtering – Quality to “High Performance”
Triple Buffering – “Off”
Set Vertical Syn to “On”
Virtual Reality Pre-Rendered Frames – “Use 3D Application Settings”.

If you own at least a GTX 10 series GPU with a decent enough CPU then Open Nvidia Control panel > Manage 3D Settings> Program Settings. Select the game from the list and set Vertical Sync to “Fast”.

Start the game and disable Vertical sync and Nvidia’s setting will take over. This will give an FPS boost to Remnant From The Ashes on PC if you have moderate enough GPU and CPU.

How To Disable VOIP/Voice Chat

Remnant From The Ashes has voice chat enabled by default and players can’t disable it from the menu. Here is a workaround to disable it.

Go to “%LOCALAPPDATA%\Remnant\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor” and open Engine.ini in notepad. Just add the following at the bottom and save it as this will disable the VOIP or voice chat in-game.

[Voice]
bEnabled=False
[OnlineSubsystem]
bHasVoiceEnabled=False

How To Get 1080p/60 FPS

Remnant From The Ashes isn’t one of those games that are designed for 60 FPS gameplay experience. However, playing the game at 60 FPS is definitely a good thing.

Here I will discuss each and every graphical setting in the game and will provide you with optimal settings for a 1080p/60 FPS experience on a mid-range PC. Note that by mid-range I mean, Nvidia GTX 1060 6GB paired with an Intel Core i5 CPU and 8GB of RAM. By low-end I mean Nvidia GTX 1050 with Core i3 7th-gen or older.

Shadow Distance
This Remnant From The Ashes graphical setting determines shadow quality for faraway objects. Obviously, this graphical setting demands a lot of GPU VRAM which the GTX 1060 6GB is able to provide.

However, if you do face performance issue then this setting should be your first choice to turn down. Note that for low-end systems, this setting might need to be turned down entirely.

Best Image Quality: 100
Performance: 50
Recommended: 70

Shadow Quality
This one determines the overall quality of shadows in Remnant From The Ashes. This is a taxing graphical setting and even more so for a low-end PC.

While it’s not confirmed, at the time of writing, but it’s likely that ambient occlusion setting is tied to Shadow Quality.

Best Image Quality: Ultra
Performance: Medium
Recommended: High

Anti-Aliasing
Antialiasing the graphical setting that removes the aliasing or jagged edges in the game and makes the image much more presentable. However, this requires significant computational power.

If you are using a GTX 1060 with a Core i3 CPU 7th-gen or older, then you might be bottlenecking your GPU. In that case, keep the anti-lasing on medium and increase it if you see there is no drop in performance.

Best Image Quality: Ultra
Performance: Medium
Recommended: Ultra

View Distance
This graphical setting in remnant From The Ashes determines the level of texture quality for faraway objects. This setting takes a lot of VRAM and can drop performance on a low-end system. For a low-end system, keep this setting at medium or low.

Best Image Quality: Ultra
Performance: Medium
Recommended: Ultra

Texture Quality
This setting is self-explanatory as it controls the quality of textures. As you increase this setting, it will demand more VRAM which a low-end system might not be able to provide so keep it at medium or High for low-end systems.

Best Image Quality: Ultra
Performance: High
Recommended: Ultra

Post Processing
This graphical setting determines effects like depth of field, chromatic aberration, and bloom. It’s up to you if you like playing the game with effects like Depth of field and chromatic aberration.

Best Image Quality: Ultra
Performance: High
Recommended: High

Effects
This graphical setting determines the quality of particle effects. In some areas of the game, this setting being on Ultra can have an impact on performance.

Best Image Quality: Ultra
Performance: High
Recommended: High

Foliage Quality
Foliage Quality determines the quality of trees, grass, and other plants in-game. Other than quality, it also dictates if the plants will react to player movements.

Best Image Quality: Ultra
Performance: High
Recommended: Ultra

That is all for our Remnant From The Ashes PC Tweaks. Now that you understand how each of the Remnant From The Ashes graphical settings work, you’ll be able to pick the right settings for your 1080p/60 FPS experience.

Remnant From The Ashes Fatal Error Fix, Black Screen, Disable Voice Chat, X3DAudio1_7.dll Not Found Fix

Remnant From The Ashes has launched for PC and consoles. However, Remnant From The Ashes PC version is facing errors and issues like Fatal Error, can’t disable VOIP or voice chat, X3DAudio1_7.dll was not found and more. Here I have compiled a list of errors and fixes for Remnant From The Ashes so that you can play the game without any problems.

Remnant: From The Ashes Crash, Black Screen And Fixes

Remnant: From The Ashes is the latest title from Gunfire Games, the developer behind Darksiders 3. It’s a co-op shooter with a procedurally generated world.

The PC version of the game is facing issues and errors like black screen, Fatal Error and more. The following are the errors and issues that players are experiencing along with their possible fixes and workarounds.

Disable VOIP/Voice Chat

Remnant From The Ashes has voice chat enabled by default and there is no way in the menu to disable it. Here is a quick fix to disable the VOIP or voice chat in the game.

Go to “%LOCALAPPDATA%\Remnant\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor” and open Engine.ini in notepad. Just add the following at the bottom and save it.

[Voice]
bEnabled=False

[OnlineSubsystem]
bHasVoiceEnabled=False

This will disable the voice chat in the game.

Unknown Error Fix

Players are reporting that when they check multiplayer access they get an Unknown Error. This Remnant From The Ashes error might be occurring due to your outer base ad-blocker or ad-blocker in general. Just add “api.epicgames.dev” to the whitelist and the Unknown Error will be fixed.

Crash At Launch Fix

Game crashing at launch is another error that Remnant From The Ashes players are experiencing. There are multiple reasons why the game might be crashing at launch and here are the fixes.

If the game is not launching or crashing at startup after the recent update on Steam, then the issue might be Epic Games client. Install the Epic Games client on your PC and Remnant From The Ashes will stop crashing at launch.

In case the players are experiencing Unreal crash at startup, go to your Steam Library and right-click Remnant From The Ashes > Properties > click “Set launch options” > type “-nocrashdialog” and press ok. This will fix the crash at the launch issue with the game.

Another reason for Remnant From The Ashes to crash at startup it might be your anti-virus software or Windows Defender detecting the game’s exe file as a trojan and blocking it. To fix this, you can either disable the anti-virus software or make an exception for the game’s exe file in your anti-virus software. After that, verify the game files and the issue will be fixed.

If the game is still crashing then Nvidia users can turn on the debug mode. Open Nvidia control panel > help > debug mode then select manage 3D settings> program settings> Remnant From The Ashes and set “Texture Filtering- Quality” to “High Performance”.

Or you can just enable the debug mode and set 3D settings to performance. Either way, crashing at launch issue for the game should be fixed.

Another reason for the game to crash could be the GPU driver itself. Try a different driver version and the issue will be resolved.

System Error, X3DAudio1_7.dll Was Not Found Fix

Players are reporting that when they try to play Remnant From The Ashes they get the following error on PC.

Error box name: Remnant-win64-shipping.exe – System Error
Error box contents: The code execution cannot proceed because X3DAudio1_7.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem.

One of the reasons for the missing X3DAudio1_7.dll could b that you haven’t updated your OS. Update your Windows OS and if the error still persists then install Visual C++ Redistributable Packages for Visual Studio 2013 and 64-bit version Visual C++ Redistributable.

You can also just search the file on the internet and download it but it’s not recommended as it may put your system at risk.

Black Screen Fix

Getting a black screen at launch is a common issue in PC games. Remnant From The Ashes players are reporting that when they start the game they only get a black screen while the audio is playing in the background.

To fix this problem, start the game and when the black screen appears, press “Alt + Enter”. The game will go into windowed mode and will start to display.

You just have to go to the video settings and change the resolution to your display’s native resolution and you’ll be able to play Remnant From The Ashes in fullscreen.

D3D Device Lost, Fatal Error Fix

Players are reporting that while playing Remnant From The Ashes the game crashes randomly and they get the following error.

Assertion failed: [File:Unknown] [Line: 198] Unreal Engine is exiting due to D3D device being lost. (Error: 0x887A0006 -‘HUNG’)

Or

LowLevelFatalError [File:Unknown] [Line: 198]
Unreal Engine is exiting due to D3D device being lost. (Error: 0x887A0006 – ‘HUNG’)

One reason for this could be that you are using third-party monitoring software like GeForce Experience which is installed with the Driver. Just disable it and you won’t see the error again. If you are using other third-party software like MSI Afterburner then it might be causing the game to crash.

If the crashes and the error still persist then the issue might be the GPU. If you have overclocked your GPU or its factory overclocked then just revert the GPU back to its default clock speeds using third-party software like MSI Afterburner. If the GPU isn’t overclocked then reducing the clock speed by 100 MHz might fix the problem.

If you don’t want to mess with the GPU clock then locking the game’s FPS will fix the issue. Open Nvidia Control Panel > Manage 3D Settings > Program Settings > select the game.

Turn on the “Max FPS limit” and then set the value for the max FPS the game can be rendered at. This is a bit of trial and error to find at which FPS the error will be fixed.

If you are limiting the FPS below 60 then I recommend locking the FPS at 30 due to frame pacing. Locking the FPS will reduce the GPU load and will fix the Remnant From The Ashes D3D Device Lost error and Fatal Error.

Low FPS, Stuttering, Performance Fix

Here are a few things that will help you eliminate stuttering from the game and boost FPS.

First, make sure you are using the latest GPU driver and there is no background process running that is using too much of your CPU, GPU, or HDD.

Launch the game and turn off in-game v.sync and then close the game. Open Nvidia Control Panel > Manage 3D Settings > Program Settings > select the game from the list and if it isn’t there then add it. Make the following changes.

Set “Power Management Mode” to “Prefer Maximum Performance”
set “Texture Filtering- Quality” to “High Performance”
Set “Vertical Sync” to “On”

This will eliminate stuttering and potentially boost FPS. Also, there is another thing that you can change here to boost FPS if you have the GPU and CPU to handle it. Just set Vertical Sync to “Fast” which can potentially boost the game’s FPS.

That is all for our Remnant From The Ashes fixes for errors like the crash at launch, Fatal Error, and more. I will update it with more fixes as I find them. If you are facing errors and issues with other PC games or your PC then also see our hub for commonly occurring PC errors and their fixes.
