Intel Core i9-13900K Raptor Lake CPU Benchmarks Reveal Minor Performance Improvement Over 12900K

Gaming and synthetic performance benchmarks for the Intel Core i9-13900K Raptor Lake CPU have been leaked and it seems that performance improvement is not all that impressive compared to the 12900K. The next generation Intel CPU is only 3% to 7% faster depending on the resolution.

Intel Core i9-13900K Vs 12900K Benchmarks

The i9-13900K features 24 cores and 32 threads. 8 of those cores and performance cores while 16 are efficiency cores. The chip features 36 MB of L3 cache and 32 MB of L2 adding up to 68 MB of Smart Cache.

From what we see in the benchmarks the performance of the Intel Core i9-13900K Raptor Lake CPU is what you would expect to see from a refresh. 1080p performance improvement is 4.46%, 1440p is 7% and 4K is 3% overall.

You can check out the Intel Core i9-13900K benchmarks for select individual games included below:

From what we know, the chip has a base clock speed of 3.0 GHz and can boost to 5.5 GHz. The benchmarks do not seem all that impressive for the upcoming chip that is supposed to come out later this year. The final product could offer better performance but that is yet to be seen. If these benchmarks are anything to go by then upgrading from the 12900K to the i9-13900K might not be worth it for most especially when it comes to gaming.

It is also interesting to see that while performance improvements are minor, the 13th generation Intel CPU uses much more power. This might be the reason why we have not seen the chip hit 5.8 GHz yet. You can check out the power draw numbers in the image below:

Let us know what you think about these Intel Core i9-13900K gaming benchmarks and whether or not you are interested in upgrading to the 13th generation Raptor Lake CPUs. You can also check out the performance numbers for the Intel Arc A750 Limited Edition graphics card.
