Secret Chest #1: A Burden of Blood (Chapter 3)

You will find your first secret chest in chapter 3. During the subchapter “The Warehouse,” you will be given the task “Escape the fort.” The chest is located at the top right of the warehouse, near where you get your sling and knife. You’ll need a breakable knife to unlock it, but don’t worry, it’s in a plain area, so you won’t miss it.

Secret Chest #2: Protector’s Duty (Chapter 4)

You will find your second secret chest in chapter 4. During the subchapter “Risky Itinerary,” you will be given the task “Reach the order’s boat.” After you finish your first encounter in chapter 4, you’ll be in an area full of rats. Now, push the cart containing a burning brazier on the left until you see a ladder. Use the ladder to climb up and get to the workbench chest. You’ll need a knife again to open this chest.

Secret Chest #3: In Our Wake(Chapter 5)

You will find your third chest in chapter 5. During the subchapter “Reaction ferry,” you will be given the task “Find a way to reach the boat.” To progress, you must first cross the river. However, the path is blocked by a rip-off chain. Therefore, you need to use the counterweight nearby to clear the way. Doing so will also break down the fence blocking your access to the beach house. Upstairs in this house, you will find a treasure chest. The key to this locked box can be found earlier in chapter 5.

Secret Chest #4: Leaving all Behind (Chapter 6)

You will find your fourth secret chest in chapter 6. During the subchapter “Call of the rats,” you will be given the task “Find a way out of the building.” Leaving the quarry, you’ll find yourself in a desert-like area where a giant monster awaits you. Take it down and enter the building. Crouch behind the shelves on the right side, but beware of traps that may be hidden there. Once you reach the chest, use the knife from your last encounter to open it.

Secret Chest #5: Felons (Chapter 7)

You will find your fifth secret chest in chapter 7. During the subchapter “More Rats,” you will be given the task “Find the smuggler’s hideout.” You must defeat the enemies you encounter as you explore the cave. If you notice that rats are no longer present, it is time to crouch into the boat and search for a chest. The knife given to you at the beginning of Chapter Herbarium can be used open the chest.

Secret Chest #6: Tales and Revelations (Chapter 9)

You will find your sixth secret chest in chapter 9. During the subchapter “Exploration,” you will be given the task “Follow the bird statues.”From the starting point, go towards the mountain that has two peaks. On your left side, there will be a ruined tower. Hit the door lock from the window. After entering the tower behind the door, you will find a knife. Now use the ladder to climb up and find the chest. Open it using the knife.

Secret Chest #7: Tales and Revelations (Chapter 9)

You will find your seventh secret chest in chapter 9. During the subchapter “On the mountain,” you will be given the task “Find a way around the checkpoint.” Walk towards the mountains until you find the road blocked by goats. Take a left, and climb up the ledge at the end of the path. You will see a new path half-right; follow it and climb up on its left side. Eventually, you come across a chest that can be opened using a knife found in an earlier tower.

Secret Chest #8: Bloodline (Chapter 10)

You will find your eighth secret chest in chapter 10. During the subchapter “In the courtyard,” you will be given the task “Use Sophia’s prism.” The way to the rat-infested area is murky, so Sophia will light the way with her crystal. When you reach the tower at the right corner of this dismal place, tell Sophia to use her crystal from the 2nd brazier. Now enter the tower and go upstairs to find a chest along your journey.

Secret Chest #9: The Cradle of Centuries (Chapter 11)

You will find your ninth secret chest in chapter 11. During the subchapter “Rat tank,” you will be given the task “Explore the rest of the underground area.” Once you’re done with the puzzle, open the giant gate, which is locked by four metal bars, you need to walk through the rat-infested room to get to the ledges. Climb up and use your slingshot to break through the chains. To pass through 2nd chain set, squeeze left, and you’ll find a chest.

Secret Chest #10: Nothing Left (Chapter 13)

You will find your ninth secret chest in chapter 11. During the subchapter “Ruined village,” you will be given the task “Reach the port.” After you finish the second encounter with the enemy, stand the cart up, so it’s easier to push, and then find the stairs going up to the chest.

That’s everything you need to know about all secret chest locations. However, before you go, check out some more A Plague Tale Requiem guides you may find helpful:

A Plague Tale Requiem Hugo’s Herbarium Locations

In total, there are 12 Herbariums scattered throughout the game. Once you find all of them, you will unlock the Herbalist and Ornithologist achievement. In this guide, we will discuss everything you need to know about finding all of  Hugo’s Herbarium locations in A Plague Tale Requiem.

All Hugo’s Herbarium Locations

All of Hugo’s Herbariums are divided into the following items:

  • 5x Flowers
  • 7x Feathers

Flowers Locations

Flower #1: Newcomers (Chapter 2)

You will find the first flower, “Arrowhead,” in chapter 2. Then, during the subchapter “Ignifer,” you will be tasked with reaching the South Tower. Amicia and Lucas will hide from rats, reach an underneath section through an elevator with a brazier on it, and walk a few seconds to the garden, where Lucis sits on a flower called the first flower of Hugo’s Herbarium.

Flower #2: A Burden of Blood (Chapter 3)

You will find the second flower, “Chamomile,” in chapter 3. During the subchapter “At the edge of the city,” you will be tasked with reaching the herbalist’s forest. You will reach the herbalist’s hut while fighting against the rat. However, before entering the hut, you must first take the left path and end it. You will see giant trees with flower pots along this path. To get these flower pots, hit the metal chip above them. Now pick up your second flower pot and continue on your journey.

Flower #3: Protector’s Duty (Chapter 4)

You will find the third flower, “Gentian,” in chapter 4. During the subchapter “Night Work,” you will be tasked with reaching the order’s boat. First, you will reach the herbalist’s hut while fighting against the rat. However, before entering the hut, you must first take the left path and end it. You will see giant trees with flower pots along this path. To get these flower pots, hit the metal chip above them. Now pick up your second flower pot and continue on your journey.

Flower #4: In Our Wake (Chapter 5)

You will find the fourth flower, “Anemone,” in chapter 5. During the subchapter “Bridge under construction,” you will be tasked with finding a way to reach the boat. Once you remove the chain and free the river, follow the riverbank to reach the bridge. First, you will need to find and remove the source of the obstruction blocking the small drawbridge to raise it. Once done, you can use the crank to raise the bridge and cross. Now find the Anemone flower, which will be at the cliff’s edge.

Flower #5: King Hugo (Chapter 16)

You will find the fifth and final flower, “Carnation,” in chapter 16. During the subchapter “Marseille,” you will be tasked with finding Hugo. Follow the path until Lucas stops to look at some flowers; he will interact with them. You need to collect these flowers.

Feathers Locations

Feather #1: Leaving all Behind (Chapter 6)

You will find the first feather, “Jay,” in chapter 6. During the subchapter “Towards the sea,” you will be tasked with finding a way toward the coast. Chapter 6 begins in a giant, open field. Once you take a few steps, Amicia will challenge Hugo to race to the big tree in the middle of the field. Hugo will win and get all the feathers you need; ask them for your desired feather Jay.

Feather #2: Felons (Chapter 7)

The second feather, “Black-headed gull,” is found in chapter 7. During the subchapter “Arrival at the beach,” you will be tasked with crossing the beach. In Chapter 7, after exploring the beach for a while, you’ll come across a small house on your left. Entering the house, you’ll see a knife lying on the bed. To find the feather, walk to the window on your left.

Feather #3: A Sea of Promises (Chapter 8)

The third feather, “Black kite,” is found in chapter 8. During the subchapter “Arrival at the beach,” you will be tasked with looking around for information about the island. After you arrive on the island, find Arnaud and go to the square market. Once you’re in the square, walk to the left side, where there is a garden. The woman will be thanking her workers for their efforts. You must cross past them; a small path leads to a tree on your left. Grounded at its base with feathers all around it, interact with this object to get your desired one.

Feather #4: Tales and Revelations (Chapter 9)

The fourth feather, “Barn owl,” is found in chapter 9. During the subchapter “Entering the sanctuary,” you will be tasked with finding a way around the checkpoint. Sanctuary has two rules: don’t get spotted, and don’t kill anyone. If you want to visit, following these rules is a must. You will second stealth inside the tower, where your goal is to reach the top without using the exit halfway through it. After reaching the top left at the pathway’s end, you will find a feather on the ground.

Feather #5: Bloodline (Chapter 10)

The fifth feather, “Raven,” is found in chapter 10. During the subchapter “The old temple,” you will be tasked with reaching the fort. To enter the old temple, you need to kill the first enemy. Assign Sophia the task of interacting with the wheel in the meantime. To go inside the door, use a row crossbow to crush it. Follow the paved path and leave when you see the grassy path. Next, you need to jump over the cliff, and you will find a feather at its end.

Feather #6: The Cradle of Centuries (Chapter 11)

The sixth feather, “European goldfinch,” is found in chapter 11. During the subchapter “Byzantine technology,” you will be tasked with exploring the underground area. You’ll need to blow up the first door using an explosive barrel to progress in the game. The next room has a similar setup: there will be an explosive barrel behind the wall on your right side. Use Ignifer slingshot again to set off the explosion. However, don’t destroy the left gate in this room. After clearing that path, you will find a feather nearby.

Feather #7: Nothing Left (Chapter 13)

You will find the seventh and final feather, “Greylag goose,” in chapter 13. During the subchapter “Ruined village,” you will be tasked with reaching the port. Chapter 13 will introduce you to taking down your second enemy. Afterward, you will see a cart that needs pushing to continue. The best approach is to stand the cart up so it can take you back from where you came. Once you reach the top of the stairs and find the feather, look around for a hidden chest in the same room. Collecting all flowers and feathers completes this task and allows access to the Herbalist trophy.

That’s everything you need to know about finding all of Hugo’s Herbarium Locations. If you need more help, here are some more A Plague Tale Requiem guides you may find helpful:

A Plague Tale Requiem Chapter 2 Newcomers Walkthrough

In A Plague Tale: Requiem, Amicia de Rune has to defend her brother Hugo from fresh threats after believing he was safe from the Inquisition. Even though the siblings avoided the Inquisition and defeated Nicholas, a new threat arose.

The de Rune family needs to find another safe haven after their close encounter with the insane town residents. As the family continues strategizing about how they can live peacefully, Beatrice is aware of a nearby town that can shelter them. The second chapter of A Plague Tale: Requiem is called Newcomers, and this walkthrough will explain how to go through it.

A Plague Tale Requiem Chapter 2

New Area

The de Rune family arrives in a new town at the beginning of the chapter. After meeting at the castle and on the road, the de Rune family expects better fortune, leaving them still unsettled.

On their trip to their new home, Beatrice will ask Amicia to tour the region with Hugo. Near the entrance, there will be many merchants you may talk to and even test some meat.

You will eventually arrive at a square with a man reading the day’s news if you keep walking along the walkway. Amicia will remark that she can see the home’s roof if you continue to go straight.

As you browse the shops, you’ll see something your deceased father liked and other traders offering you products or haircuts. Hugo will talk to a florist close to the marketplace exit and express his love for her goods.

After you leave the florist, the path splits. At the end of the walkway to the right, there is a carnival game where you must destroy as many cubes as possible with four shots. Amicia and Hugo will eventually locate Lucas, who will show you how to your new house after you’ve jammed out to the performance for a while.

Vaudin

It’s time for a well-deserved nap now that you have located the residence. For the de Rune family, “rest” unfortunately does not exist. Hugo experiences a nightmare, indicating that the Macula in his blood is having an impact on him. Lucas offers to assist Amicia in her search for Magister Vaudin, an Order member after Beatrice urges her to locate him.

As the two enter the town, Lucas guides the guard to the florist and inquires about Vaudin. To locate the florist you spoke to earlier with Hugo, proceed down the path and turn to the left. The florist instructs Amicia to look for her husband by the fountain and mentions that he is donning a brown tunic when you speak to her again.

You’ll soon discover him raking leaves if you keep moving down the path you’re on. He will advise you to look in the arena neighborhood when you ask him where Vaudin is.

Two soldiers will be barring the entrance and informing you that the arena is closed when you reach the trail’s end. Amicia and Lucas will find a secondary entry down the walkway to the right after spotting the Order’s mark on the arena wall.

The Horrors

Amicia and Lucas quickly detect something wrong when you enter the arena. The arena is littered with the dead bodies of those bitten.

The two believed the sickness was extinct because they hadn’t noticed the effects of the Bite in a while. You can find another Order mark above a door by moving through the arena until you reach it. You may see an aperture above you after you enter the room. Use the cart in the adjacent chamber to help Amicia and Lucas climb the wall and get to the opening.

There will be a soldier pestering someone after you crawl underneath the obstruction.

  • Walk past the soldier and down the stairs to an area with tall grass.
  • Distract the soldier with pots you pick up nearby.
  • Keep walking and turn right to go through a door leading to a room with two Windows.
  • Wait for the men to leave the room,
  • Jump the ledge and open the door to be greeted with another corridor packed with corpses.

You can return inside by a ledge at the end of the hallway, but it is too steep to climb up. Past the pig, there will be a half cart that you must scale the ledge to reach. Break the latch with your slingshot so you can dump the cage of bodies onto the cart and climb to the ledge.

Climb up and dash down the corridor until you see a board with what appears to be a list of deceased people. Remove the knife, crawl through the gap, open the door, and escape to return to the outside. When you descend from the ledge, you will see several troops patrolling the area and an archer firing arrows randomly.

The Plague

You will need to move cautiously across the region because you lack the offensive skills necessary to defeat the soldiers head-on. Use the structures around you as cover since the archer can clearly see you from his perch.

You can also use the pots in the area to occupy the guards. You can take other paths, so pick the one that will meet the least resistance. Stick to the right side, where only two soldiers are patrolling, and use the pots to attract their attention.

Reach the door as soon as the archer’s attention shifts to something else. Once the door animation begins, you won’t be assaulted even if an enemy sees you.

To get to another door, proceed past the sea of corpses and up the stairs. You will eventually reach a wooden ledge with a panoramic view of the entire city. Amicia and Lucas can make out a massive tower with the Order’s emblem in the distance.

The platform will crumble under the weight of Amicia and Lucas when you jump off the brink. When you try to keep the rats out, millions of them will start chasing Amicia and Lucas and crashing through the walls.

Light additional combustible items to scare the rats away and use the torch to safely navigate the sea of rodents. When you eventually get to a ledge, you’ll need to hang the torch from the wall because there are sticks you can light on the opposite side.

  • Grab the first stick and make your way to the Brazier.
  • Light the Brazier and then repeat the process for the next one.
  • After this, you will have to throw a stick to light a brazier that is hanging to light it.
  • Now use your slingshot to break the latch allowing the light to swing near the ladder, making it climbable.
  • Go through with walking across the beam, ignore Lucas falling and you two separating; he does that sometimes.
  • To assist Lucas, Amicia will find another stick and ignite the brazier on the route before hurling another lit stick over to the opposite side.

He will beg Amicia to toss another stick once he reaches the top so he may return to her.

Ignifier

Back in the hallway of dead people, descend the stairs, and you will find yourself. A room with an elephant skull on the floor will be at the end of the hallway.

To get to the crank, climb the side steps. The rooms on either side will open up when Lucas turns the crank; regrettably, the gates will also open, and a swarm of rats will pour inside the chamber. To gather the necessary supplies to ignite the brazier, Amicia will need to search the chambers on either side of the crank.

A ladder is in the room to your left. Tell Lucas to raise the elevator using the crank when you get to the top. To return the cart to the elevator, run to the opposite side. Ask Lucas to open the elevator and move the cart to the other platform so you may climb up and find Sulphur in the chest by opening the chest.

Leave this room and proceed to the one next to the crank. Use your slingshot to kill the hanging cow so the rats can clean the space below before interacting with the right side wall. To eliminate the remaining rats, there will be another cow hanging to be shot down. Climb the ladder after jumping off the ledge to find the Alcohol that will be needed to craft the Ignifier.

Escape the Arena

You may now make Ignifer using alcohol and sulphur. Lucas will instruct you on how to combine the Ignifer if you climb the ladder. Open the weapon wheel to create Ignifer, and use your slingshot to shoot the room’s central brazier.

You can descend to the bottom section by climbing down to the middle chamber when the rats leave it. Lighting the brazier in the now-open gate requires using your slingshot and an igniter. For more crafting materials, open the chest.

Ignifer can be combined with a pot to eliminate the remaining rats once you relight the torch on the wall with your slingshot and another round of Ignifer.

Use your sling to break the clasp on the hanging cow so the rats can eat it now underneath the torch. Between the cages is a chest that contains more materials. You can find the first crank if you quickly head up the stairs. So that you can move to the opposite side, tell Lucas to remain at the crank.

Run across to the freshly opened section after jumping off the cliff. To light the brazier and unlock the chest for more resources, use your sling and Ignifer. A ladder will be visible at the room’s far end, but rats will be in your path.

To get rid of some of the rats, open the hanging brazier’s latch and fire the brazier. After clearing the remaining rats with Ignifer and a pot, ascend the ladder to the second crank.

Steer Clear of the Guards

The middle brazier will completely touch the ground after the cranks are turned. The central platform will rise again as you let go of the cranks. Hurry to the platform, then run up the stairs to the outside.

Amicia and Lucas may now get a better look at the tower with the Order insignia. As you proceed through the wreckage, you’ll come across the Arrowhead, a flower for Hugo’s collection.

  • Go back up the stairs and turn around to find a chest before continuing on.
  • Run up the stairs and the ladder to the bridge before turning to the right.
  • There will be another chest with resources and a dagger to the side over the bridge.
  • To pass through, go back to the path below and move the wooden board.
  • You can hide from the lurking foes in the lush grass if you continue running.
  • Exit each patch quickly to dodge Arnaud’s soldiers.

A couple of them will be heard announcing that Vaudin is in the tower. Find a ledge that will lead you to the upper right side by going around the back of the building. If you need to stock up on supplies before scaling the walls, pots and other items are within the dwellings.

There will be a pile of sticks when you descend the stairs. Because there are three guards patrolling to the left, one guard inside the house in front of you, and one archer on top, this phase can be challenging.

Returning Home

Wait patiently until the right moment to enter the house. Rats will start to burrow from the earth as soon as you leave, so carrying that stick is crucial.

Run up the stairs after moving to the right and lighting the stick. You can take cover behind the railings because another guard will be patrolling the area.

After a little distance, a pot will be on a shelf to the right. Clear the rodents below using the pot and Ignifer, then jump from the ledge. You can use your slingshot to kill the archer watching the area.

Amicia informs Lucas after locking the door that she is concerned for Hugo and that he is constantly afraid the rats will come again. The iron bells with planet symbols can be found down the hallway after the cutscene is done.

The bells must be struck with your slingshot in the proper order for them to ring: Jupiter, Mars, the Sun, Venus, and Mercury. The side entry will open once the proper sequence has been set. Magister Vaudin can be found if you go up the stairs.

Amicia is the Carrier’s Protector, and the Magister explains why she is important to the Order. When she informs him that Macula is back, Vaudin offers to assist Hugo.

A Plague Tale Requiem Nothing Left Walkthrough (Chapter 13)

Chapter 13 of A Plague Tale Requiem is titled Nothing Left. The chapter is divided into multiple sub-chapters, each with its own objectives. You can also find a bunch of collectibles in chapter 13.

A Plague Tale Requiem Nothing Left Sub Chapters List

  • Grief
  • Inside the Nest
  • Fresh Air
  • Ruined Village
  • Rescue

Grief

Amicia, Hugo, and Lucas are distressed and bereaved after witnessing the brutal murder of their mother, Magistra, by Emilie, who continued to adhere to the Child of Embers cult that the Count brainwashed her with. Hugo replied by releasing countless rats throughout the palace as a form of punishment, devouring the Countess in the most fitting manner. The Counts promised retribution. Hugo, obviously frightened, and Amicia, who has lost all hope, don’t want to continue the struggle, but Lucas offers to take the lead.

Amicia’s broken shoulder will be fixed by Lucas if you help him through the debris. Continue into the cellar after passing through the tunnel. Right away, make a U-turn to access some items on a shelf. Continue flanking the right side until you may enter a side room with a tool chest containing additional resources. Continue moving forward through the tunnels until you get to a space with a huge door heading outside and several metal bars. Check the metal bars on the right as soon as you enter the space and throw a rock through the gap to unlock the door on the other side. Pull the cart towards yourself and return to the right once you exit from the door you came from.

You will find a bookcase on wheels when you climb over the fence. To enter the wall opening, push it away. Find Souvenir #21/21 by interacting with the table right now. A Mess. If you have collected every other souvenir in the game, you should now be able to unlock: gold: Immortal Memories.

Now go in the other direction to locate an anchor point. Use your crossbow to pass through the metal bars on the opposite side’s upper floor furniture. Pull now to lower it. Approaching the piece of furniture will greet you with a new cutscene.

Inside the Nest

The gap created by Beatrice’s passing in Hugo’s psyche has been filled by the Macula, and the Hugo we knew appears to have vanished. To prevent putting out the fire, avoid walking into the Macula vapors exploding from the bags as you descend and retrieve the torch from the wall before continuing. When you finally arrive at a massive ratbag, Hugo will feel as though he has found a new home.

There isn’t time for conversation because the bag is going to burst. Run through the nest repeatedly before exiting the building to start a fresh cutscene.

Fresh Air

Continue descending to discover more bags and seas of rats that appear to have discovered a method to break the surface. However, Hugo exercises control over his authority and commands the rats to leave the area.

Head for the lamp as you descend the hill. There will now be three guards after you, so hide in the grass. Removing guards as you see fit, proceed along the central path until you reach a tool chest with upgrade materials.

After flanking the area’s left side, accessible from the collapsed column, proceed along the cliff until you come upon a chest close to a tipping wagon. In this location, a knife is also embedded in a wooden beam. From here, turn right and proceed past the area guarded by a large armored soldier to reach the ruins above the ledge. Shoot the chain holding the wagon to the wall after opening the chest. Now ascend it and unlock the door.

Ruined Village

Despite what he did, Hugo wants to save Arnaud since he is somehow still alive.

Take the way via the barn on the left after descending the cliff. Use an ignited pot on the rats to get to the brazier after killing the soldier there. To discover some flower crowns on a wooden stand with another knife, proceed straight into and out of the home. Now go back and go upstairs to the chest.

As if you had made a different decision after the cutscene, move to the opposite side of the arena now. A house with two more chests may be found here, one upstairs and one downstairs.

Grab the pieces close to the shattered roof as you proceed along the street. Eventually, you’ll arrive at a church equipped with a toolbox and upgrade supplies. Beyond the church, on the left and right, are two more chests. Once you’ve finished investigating, crawl under the beams inside the base of the fallen belfry.

Now proceed along the bell tower and descend. As soon as you land, go through the window of the house on your right to find a chest. After that, ascend the ledge, take the remains from the corpse to your right, and descend. Before the house wall, to your left, there is a knife lodged in a wooden beam. Another corpse in parts is next to the knife, by a tree.

Now keep going till you come upon a cart. Hugo’s Herbarium #11/12 / Feather #7/7 Greylag Goose can be found by pushing the cart near the white-painted ledge to the left of the door you just entered. If you have gathered every other feather in the game up to this point, you will unlock the silver achievement labeled Ornithologist. Open the door to your right, facing the Feather to reveal Secret Chest 10. If you have so far unlocked every Secret Chest in the game, you will get the silver achievement labeled Explorer.

To continue the story, descend again and push the cart to the other white-painted ledge. More parts are located up the stairs and around the corner near another dead body. You should be able to see Sophia’s boat in the distance as you descend the steps.

Rescue

Stride up to the fences and duck behind one. Tar pots ought to be visible close to the soldiers. To ignite them all, only strike one. Shoot the remaining soldiers, then be ready to battle the large, armored, and shielded soldier. Blind him using either a saltpeter sack or a copper tank. Then, he fired a bolt at his chest to permanently end his life after hitting his weak spot on the breastplate. Rinse and repeat for the next two guys and finally clear out the area of the mobs.

Now you can release Arnaud. Hugo will take care of the soldiers that come your way. Once he is finished, approach them. Hugo hands Arnaud back his shield, which means we’re ready to leave. The sibling’s mourned the death of their mother on Sophia’s boat and vowed to honor their mother by healing from her death.

How to Solve the Windmill Puzzle in A Plague Tale: Requiem

The Windmill Puzzle is one of the more complicated puzzles that you’ll come across in A Plague Tale: Requiem. You can attempt this puzzle after arriving at La Cuna during Chapter #9 — you can also do it during Chapter #10 if you missed it previously. But the question is: how do you solve this Windmill Puzzle? This guide should help you easily solve the Windmill Puzzle in A Plague Tale: Requiem.

To begin, you need to arrive at La Cuna during Chapter #9. Once there, continue to head down from the La Cuna Palace until you see 4 Windmills in the distance. Outside the door of each Windmill, you’ll see a number with a small drawing of one of the nearby areas.

The idea is to visit the locations shown in the drawings above the Windmill doors and see whether that particular Windmill should be turning or remain static. It can be a little tough to find these locations if you aren’t paying attention so make sure to look closely.

If you don’t want to go through the trouble of figuring things out yourself, here’s the solution:

  • You need to stop Windmill I and Windmill II
  • You need to turn Windmill III and Windmill IV

In order to activate or deactivate a Windmill, you simply need to head inside a Windmill and pull the lever. As simple as that!

Lastly, do note that solving this puzzle isn’t mandatory. You can skip it entirely if you don’t want to spend time figuring it out. You’ll receive an Armor Set as a reward if you manage to solve it.

This is all we have got on how to easily complete the Windmill Puzzle in A Plague Tale: Requiem. You can also check out our detailed A Plague Tale: Requiem wiki page for more help on the game.

There is no way that someone could have survived the Count’s assault. Amicia’s survival from such a catastrophic incident is a miracle. Thank you, Arnaud, for your brave sacrifice. Even though he could heal her injury, without his sacrifice, it wouldn’t have been possible for Amicia to kill the monster. Hugo loathed the massive cloud of Nebula that allowed rats to infest the entire city. Finally, the trio, Amicia, Lucas, and Sophia, will arrive at the gates.

Objective: Find Hugo

The city of Marseilles is in ruins, infested with rats, and plagued by misery. With everyone running around trying to save themselves, Amicia, Lucas, and Sophia have a moment together and appreciate being together. When chapter 16 begins, notice the workbench on your right side and the tool chest in the room – you’ll need them both.

To find Hugo, follow Lucas upstairs and to the flower shop. At the shop, you need to get Hugo’s Herbarium #12/12 Carnation. As a reward, you will unlock the “silver: Herbalist” achievement.

You will encounter rats in the rooms blocking your way so you can look for Hugo. Amicia, Lucas, and Sophia will take down the rats’ waves together, but Sophia won’t be able to continue after that. Next, Amicia, Lucas, and Sophia will work together to take down the rats’ army, but Sophia won’t be able to help after that.

The Descent

Objective: Find Hugo

As you walk out of the building yourself, Lucas will suddenly appear and join you. You’ll notice that the rats no longer follow you when you see them jump down from the ledge and hide behind the wall. Head left to the next wall and continue this until you reach the gate. Once you reach the gate, give it a few seconds before taking down the next wave.

Jump over the wall repeatedly until it collapses, and then start jumping over the roofs. Once you see the coffin, come down and run towards the bridge. Amicia and Lucas will be at the last threshold – where Nebula and Macula become one – and all natural laws no longer exist. Even so, they continue to slide down the bridge.

Amicia and Lucas will finally reach the last threshold, and All three (Nebula, Hugo, and Macula) will become one. They reach a point where they are no longer bound by natural law and keep sliding down the bridge.

Nebula

Objective: Find Hugo

If you reach the bottom and can’t find Lucas, don’t worry- keep going until you come to a broken roof. After crossing it, you’ll see some bird statues. There’s a trap here that will send you in the direction the birds are facing, but if you stay on course and go straight, you’ll avoid it. In other words, no matter which path you choose, what matters is running in a straight line until you reach the edge.

You’ll know when you reach the edge because of the giant skull heads and rat monsters. The key is that this isn’t a fighting scene; it’s a puzzle. Take out the brazier with the extinguisher to surrender and progress through the story. You’ll start again in the same area if you die while fighting rats. The way will be clear after using the extinguisher on the brazier. It will take you to Hugo’s location, so keep moving until you reach an exit door.

Objective: Reach Hugo

Now it’s time to do something you’ve never done or doesn’t want to do: cast rocks into the river of rats. Follow the rats to Hugo. Finally, you will reach a pit at the bottom where you have to hold your breath. Chapter 16, “King Hugo,” ends here.

A Plague Tale Requiem Dying Sun Walkthrough (Chapter 15)

Do you want to know everything about Dying Sun in A Plague Tale Requiem? Then, our detailed walkthrough will tell you everything you need to know about chapter 15, including where to find all the collectibles!

Dying Sun (Chapter 15) is Divided Into Three Sub-Chapters

  • Stranded
  • Duel
  • On the Cart

Stranded

It wasn’t easy for Hugo and Amicia to survive on the islands, but they did it. They will think about their future together when they return to the mainland. Amicia and Arnaud will work together to take down the Count’s men, but Amicia is hit in the process. Hugo becomes extremely angry when he sees his sister dead, avenging her by counter-attacking the Count. The Count attempts to use Hugo as a weapon to gain more land. Arnaud, holding an unconscious Amicia, submerges them into the water to escape.

Objective: Regroup with Lucas and Sophia:

Luckily, Amicia will survive as Arnaud heals her. After reaching the beach, follow Arnaud blindly to reach the shipwreck and Count.

Duel

Task: Save Arnaud

Arnaud will become emotional and confront the Count– but the Count won’t be alone. There will be a soldier with him, so you need to kill the soldier first, then watch Arnaud’s back. For this task, you can use saltpeter sacks, tar pots, and crossbows. Afterward, Hugo will still think Amicia is dead: he’ll willingly hand himself over to Macula and destroy Marseille.

Beware when battling the giant soldiers, as they will try to ambush you. If you’re not careful, they will kill you easily. The best way to take them down is by using the dust in the air for cover and shooting at their backplates, which are their weak points. For the final attack, use a crossbow along with environmental traps. After killing all of the soldiers, Count and Arnaud’s treachery ends. But, first, you must kill the Count.

Objective: Kill the Count

It is finally time to take your vengeance against the Count. Get a headshot for an instant kill. Amicia and Sophia will grieve for Arnaud. Lucas realizes that the Macula prophecy has come true with this event.

Objective: Reach Hugo

All three are now within Sophia’s cart. Yet they are desperately trying to get to safety in Marseille. When Nebula envelops Marseille, people will sprint to safety.

On the Cart

Objective: Reach Hugo

You cannot go inside Marseille since Nebula has taken hold of it. Clear a path forward by having Amicia shoot the cannon at the hay bales and fence blocking the way. There is an army of rats coming through the wall. Although it may be daunting, all you need to do is aim the cannon and hold it steady so that chapter 15 will be ended here.

How To Craft Ignifer In A Plague Tale: Requiem

As you progress through A Plague Tale: Requiem you will get your hands on new tools that will help you deal with rats and soldiers. Ignifer is one of these tools. It is the first alchemical ammo that you learn to craft and is very important. It is used to spark fires and comes in handy in not only battle but when solving puzzles as well. In this Plague Tale: Requiem guide, we go over how you can craft Ignifer.

Crafting Ignifer In A Plague Tale: Requiem

You will first learn about crafting Ignifer in chapter 2 of the game for the lift puzzle. Crafting it is pretty easy as you only need a single unit of alcohol and sulfur. You can combine the two to make Ignifer. You can find the needed material in chests as you progress through the game. You will get plenty of resources as long as you explore a bit and keep an eye on what is around you.

Ignifer is used to light things on fire and you first use it to light up a brazier but you can use it on enemies to stun them as well. You can upgrade the ammo type so that it kills enemies too rather than just stunning them. The most important use case is lighting tar on fire. This can be used to kill enemies but it is most useful to keep you protected from rats.

This is how you can craft and use Ignifer in A Plague Tale: Requiem. If you are interested in learning more then you can check out our guide on how you can get the crossbow. You can also check out our guide on which gear you should upgrade first.
