The following are the errors and issues that players are experiencing along with their fixes and workarounds.

According to PC players, they are unable to install Wasteland 3 as they get an error while installing it. This can be fixed by disabling your anti-virus/Windows Security if you are using one. If that doesn’t work then give Steam the admin rights. Right-Click Steam’s exe > properties > Compatibility tab > check “run this program as an administrator”. Apply the change and the Wasteland 3 will install.

“Application load error 3:0000065432” is another error that Wasteland 3 players are experiencing. This error is most probabaly occurring due to your anti-virus/Windows Security. All you have to do is either disable the anti-virus or exclude the game’s folder from it.

In case the save game issue is still not fixed, you might have enabled OneDrive backup for the Documents. Disable the OneDrive backup and the Save Game error will be fixed.
If all else fails, Controlled Folder access might be blocking the game to save your progress. Open Settings > Update & Security > Windows Security > Virus & Threat Protection > Manage ransomware protection > Turn off controlled folder access. This will fix the Wasteland 3 not saving issue.
Crash Fix
According to players, Wasteland 3 is crashing randomly while playing. The game might be crashing due to third-party tools and software like MSI Afterburner. Disable any such software and the game will stop crashing.
Stuck After First Fight Fix
Players are reporting that they are unable to continue Wasteland 3 after the initial fight. This issue is primarily reported by Polish players and can be fixed by changing your region in Windows 10 setting to the US or UK.
Game Not Launching, Crash At Startup Fix
A lot of Wasteland 3 players are reporting that they are unable to play the game as it’s crashing at startup or not launching at all. There are multiple reasons for the Wasteland 3 crash at startup issue to occur and here are the fixes.
For those of you who are experiencing the crash at launch or the game not launching on Windows 7, unfortunately, the game only supports Windows 10. So those with Win7 OS need to upgrade to Win 10 to play Wasteland 3.
Make sure you have installed the latest GPU drivers as old GPU drivers are causing Wasteland 3 to crash at launch for some players.
One reason for the game to crash at launch if the lack of admin rights. Right-Click on the game’s exe > properties > Compatibility tab > check “run this program as an administrator”. Apply the change and the issue will be fixed.
Those who are playing on a laptop with a dedicated GPU or a desktop PC which utilizes both integrated and dedicated GPU, maybe the game isn’t switching to the external GPU and hence crashing. To fix this, players just need to make sure the game runs on the dedicated GPU.
For Nvidia GPUs, open Nvidia Control Panel > Manage 3D Settings > Program Settings > select the game > select “High-performance Nvidia processor” under preferred preferred graphics option.
AMD GPU users need open Radeon Settings > Preferences > Additional Settings > Power > Switchable Graphics Application Settings. Select the game and select the “High-Performance profile” to the game under Graphics Settings. This will fix the game running on the integrated GPU issue.
Some players are experiencing the issue where they launch Wasteland 3 and nothing happens or crashes as soon as it launches. The first fix you need to try is to go to the Steam folder and navigate to “Steam\steamapps\common\Steamworks Shared\_CommonRedist\vcredist\2019”. Run vc_redist.x64.exe and install it. Restart your PC and launch the game which won’t crash at startup.
Alternatively, players can download and install Microsoft Visual C+++ Redistributables.
In case the issue persists, chances are your anti-virus/Windows Security might be blocking important game files. To fix this, either disable the anti-virus or exclude/whitelist the game’s install folder. For Windows Security, open Windows Security > Virus & Threat Protection > click “Manage Settings” under “Virus & Threat Protection settings”. Just disable the “Real-Time Protection”. After that, verify game files and the issue will be fixed for good.
Another reason for Wasteland 3 crashing at launch could be the outdated OS. If you haven’t updated your Windows 10 operating system then update it and the game won’t crash at startup.
No Audio With Bluetooth Headphones Fix
Wasteland 3 players are reporting audio issues with the game like no audio with Bluetooth headphones or players not getting audio in general. To fix the no audio issue with Bluetooth headphones, open settings > system > sound > click “Sound Control Panel”.
A new window will open, go to the Recording tab and disable your Bluetooth headphones as a recording device. This will fix the no audio issue with Wasteland 3.
For those who are experiencing the Wasteland 3 no audio issue in general, open settings > system > sound > click “Sound Control Panel”. Choose your active audio output device > properties > Spatial Sound tab > select off from the list and apply it. This should fix the no audio issue with the game.
Audio Stutter Fix
Wasteland 3 players are reporting that the audio is stuttering. This can be fixed easily. First, disable the in-game v.sync and close the game. Open Nvidia Control Panel > Manage 3D Settings > Program Settings > select Wasteland 3. Set “Vertical sync” to On and apply the change.
Check if the audio stuttering issue is fixed. If not, set “Vertical sync” to “Fast”. Apply the changes and the audio won’t stutter anymore.
Controller Not Working Fix
Controller not working with Wasteland 3 is another issue that PC players are experiencing. Here is how to fix it.
Those of you using Dualshock 4, the fix is simple. The game supports the DS4 natively and you don’t need Steam config to be active.
Ironically, activating the Steam config causes the DAS4 to not work with the game. open Steam and navigate to Steam > Settings > Controller > General Controller Settings. Uncheck the PlayStation option and the controller will start working with the game.
If it’s Xbox or any other controller bothering you. Open Steam and navigate to Steam > Settings > Controller > General Controller Settings.
Check the “Xbox Configuration Support” and “Generic Gamepad Configuration Support”. Press OK and the controller should be working in Wasteland 3.
Alternatively, navigate to Steam > Settings > select “Forced On” under Steam input per-game setting. This will fix the controller not working issue.
How To Boost FPS, Stuttering Fix
Wasteland 3 players are facing performance issues like Low FPS and stuttering and here is how to fix it. First, make sure you have installed the latest GPU drivers and there is no background process using too much HDD, CPU, or GPU.
Launch the game and disable in-game v.sync and close the game. Open Nvidia Control Panel > Manage 3D Settings > Program Settings > select Wasteland 3. Make the following changes.
Anti-aliasing-FXAA – “Off”
Anti-aliasing-Gamma Correction – “Off”
CUDA GPUs – “All”
Low Latency Mode – depends on the player.
Set Power Management to “Prefer Maximum Performance”
Shader Cache – “On” only if you are using an HDD. Don’t need to enable it for an SSD.
Set Texture filtering – Quality to “High Performance”
Triple Buffering – “Off”
Set Vertical Syn to “On”
Apply these settings and stuttering will be fixed and Wasteland 3 players will also see a boost in FPS. If the performance issues continue to persist, set Vertical Syn to “Fast”.
