God of War: Ragnarok Hacksilver Farming Tips

Hacksilver is the primary currency that can be used to upgrade your armor and weaponry in God of War: Ragnarok. As you make progress in your game, you automatically earn loads of Hacksilver. However, this amount is still not enough for upgrading all your armor and gear. But how do you farm a lot of Hacksilver? In this guide, we have detailed some tips and tricks to help you farm a lot of Hacksilver in God of War: Ragnarok.

Do Side Quests & Challenges
You can do a 100% completion run by doing in-game challenges and quests and earn all the remaining Hacksilver in the form of valuable loot. Whenever you find favors during the game make sure to play them. Though, it may take some time to complete them, leading to a decent amount of these rewards and other crafting materials.

Improve your Luck Stat
Being lucky in the game is something different but you can improve your luck stat in this game. To earn extra Hacksilver and bonus XP you need to have a high luck stat. Improving your vitality stats and powers in order to get aid in different combats should not be your main goal. A high-luck stat will upgrade your gears much before that, and it also plays a major role in leveling up your skills and armor early on.

Break Objects
Destroying different objects in surroundings, like boxes and pots on the side and corners will give you extra resources. These resources include Hacksilver, life mena, and many more. These resources may seem less but over a course of time, collecting these resources will add up to a large amount of Hacksilver.

Open Chests and Collect Perks
After a fight or during the sequence, you may find treasures and legendary chests in different sites. These chests are scattered and hidden all over the different locations of nine realms. Find and open these mystery treasures to collect a decent amount of Hacksilver.

There are many other ways to earn Hacksilver in God Of War: Ragnarok. However, the given collection methods will add up to your Hacksilver amount in no time, so keep at it and get your armor and weaponry upgraded already.

God of War: Ragnarok Song of the Sands Favor Walkthrough Guide

Song of the Sands is a Favor in God of War: Ragnarok that can be considered a continuation of Secret of the Sands. To start this Favor, you must have unlocked The Forbidden Sands that is done after the completion of The Reckoning. Song of the Sands is automatically started as soon as you enter The Forbidden Sands.

The cave is located near the north of the area — Freya will comment that an entrance is nearby once you get there. After dropping down, break the Soundstone and grapple on the right side. Keep on progressing ahead until you come across some Hive Matter. To break it, throw your Leviathan Axe at the Purple Crystal in a way that it ricochets onto the Hive Matter.

In the next area, deal with a bunch of enemies before pushing ahead — there is a Rune that you can read in the area. Continue to grapple forward until you come across another Hive Matter. After defeating some Light Elves, destroy the Hive Matter and climb the wall all the way to the top to open a Legendary Chest. As for the Hafgufa, there are three sets of Hive Matter that you will need to destroy to free the creature — continue to move back and forth until it is done.

From there, you need to exit to the surface and get to the south side to break the Hive Cage and free the Hafgufa once and for all! It is a beautiful sight to behold.

Once completed, you will get 1,500 XP for Kratos, 375 XP for Freya, and clear The Forbidden Sands.

While in Alfheim, you can also work on completing these Favors:

  1. Secret of the Sands
  2. The Elven Sanctum
  3. Freyr’s Gift
  4. The Desert Door

This is all we have got on to complete Song of the Sands in God of War: Ragnarok. For more tips and strategies, you can visit our God of War: Ragnarok wiki page.

God of War: Ragnarok Secret of the Sands Favor Walkthrough Guide

Secret of the Sands is a Favor in God of War: Ragnarok. You must have unlocked The Canyons after Groa’s Secret to be able to complete it. To start it, travel to The Canyons and speak with Sindri. After talking to Sindri, ride the nearby sled all the way to The Barrens.

Your objective is to enter a cave — east of The Canyons and south of The Barrens on the map. Immediately after entering the cave, you will see a lot of Hive Matter throughout the area. You can aim your Leviathan Axe at the Purple Crystals in order to clear all the attached Hive Matter in one go. You will also need to deal with a couple of Dark Elves in the area. After you are done, climb up in the next area and clear the Hive Matter from above. You will find a Red Chest and a Rune after dropping down.

From there, use the zipline to get across and grapple across the pillars to open a shortcut near the Nornir Chest — it cannot be opened right now. After clearing the Hive Matter, climb back up in order to open another door. To get the Nornir Chest, you will need to hit 3 bells in the area. Once you are done, head deeper into the cave. On your way, you will need to clear a lot of Hive Matter as well as destroy debris (ores) by detonating the Fire Vessels.

After you get to a large lantern, you will need to rotate it to destroy some more Hive Matter. Once you are done, climb up the wall to get to a trapped Hafgufa. To free the poor creature, you will need to destroy some more Hive Matter. From there, progress forward until you see a breakable roof with a Legendary Chest behind it. After picking it up, return to sled to head over to the northwest of the area to destroy a Hive Cage to free the Hafgufa. That is pretty much all!

Once completed, you will get 1,500 XP for Kratos, 375 XP for Atreus, and clear The Barrens.

While in Alfheim, you can also work on completing these Favors:

  1. Song of the Sands
  2. The Elven Sanctum
  3. Freyr’s Gift
  4. The Desert Door

This is all we have got on to complete Secret of the Sands in God of War: Ragnarok. For more tips and strategies, you can visit our God of War: Ragnarok wiki page.

How to Beat Forest Ancient in God of War Ragnarok: Boss Fight

The “Reckoning Quest” will take you to the mini-boss known as the Forest Ancient in God of War Ragnarok. In this guide, I’ll tell you how to beat the Forest Ancient in God of War Ragnarok. After you leave Freyr’s camp in Vanaheim, the first mini-boss you will encounter is the Forest Ancient. The fight will automatically start as soon as you get close to it. However, the variant will be different for future Ancients encounters, but the strategy remains the same.

God of War Ragnarok Forest Ancient Bos Fight Tips

The Forest Ancients’ trademark attack is an open chest blast covering the entire area in beams. You need to dodge the beam by hiding them behind the tree. Then, you need to throw Leviathan at the chest opening to collect the orb. After picking the orb, throw them at the boss to give him huge damage.

If you’re lucky, the orbs will recharge your white bar and stun the Forest Ancient. When she’s stunned, go after her quickly and hold down “R3” for a stronger attack. Your stronger attack might not kill the boss outright, but it will take away a huge chunk of her health.

The Forest Ancient’s minions will join the fight to save him when he is close to death. Do not underestimate them, but maintain a safe distance. If the monster jumps towards you, hold the “X” key to drop it. Continue hitting the boss until all of its health is gone, and it falls to the ground and explodes.

That’s all we have for now, but if you need more help, here are some more helpful guides you might like:

How to Beat Alva in God of War Ragnarok: Boss Fight Guide

God of War Ragnarok is one of the most difficult games due to its tough bosses. It’s not just the regular enemies that will present a challenge; the bosses are especially hard. You’ll face some of this game’s toughest and most powerful foes, and one of them is Alva. In this guide, I’ll tell you how to beat the Alva in God of War Ragnarok. You will find Alva by heading to the Temple of Light, where you take down “Hilt of Gram.” However, before getting to the battle scene, you must complete the “Statues Puzzle.”

God of War Ragnarok Alva Boss Fight Tips

To efficiently take down the Alva, you must first master shield strikes. This can be done by pressing “L1” twice. In other words, use this technique when you see a blue ring around the attacker. Doing so will interrupt the enemy’s attack.

Attack #1: Get ready for a giant wind-up when you see the dual slashes. You can dodge these attacks.

Attack #2: Alva will use an unblockable ground attack. So the best thing you can do is to roll away from it.

Attack #3: Alva will start throwing the blades, so roll under them to avoid them.

Attack #4: Another attack you need to watch out for is the cross-energy blasts. Again, you must dodge this attack.

Strategy

If Alva tries to heal herself with the light of Alfheim, you need to stop it. Otherwise, she will keep depleting her health and running in a loop. Press the “L1” key to perform the strike shield, interrupting her healing process. Then use your signature move to kill her.

That’s everything you need to know everything about beating Alva in God of War Ragnarok. Need more help? Here are some more helpful guides you might like:

How to Beat Gryla in God of War Ragnarok: Boss Fight Guide

In the God of War Ragnarok, you will find Ironwood in Jotunheim. This is a very dark and beautiful forest where you will encounter Gryla. Taking down Gryla requires more strategy than power and is done in three phases. This guide will discuss all the details you need to know on how to beat Gryla in God of War Ragnarok.

God of War Ragnarok Gryla Boss Fight Tips

Phase #1 Tips: Unlike other bosses you’ve fought, Gryla cannot be stunned and hit. So to hurt her during phase #1 of the boss fight, attack the purple runes on her cauldron. You’ll know when she transforms into a cauldron because she’ll expose the Runes–and hold “R3′ to lock her; it’ll be easy to spot.

You can’t hit Gryla like normal until she’s stunned, so during Phase 1 of the Gryla boss fight, hit the purple runes on her cauldron to cause damage. It’s easier to see when Gryla has turned the cauldron around, exposing the runes if you lock on to her with R3.

She will later start throwing things from the cauldron. Dodge these items by moving close to Gryla and rolling back when she stamps her feet. Attack her four times so that her health bar will be depleted, and she will hit the floor, stunning herself in the process. Use this opportunity to counter-attack with a melee attack on the purple rune cauldron. When she backs up, the second phase of fighting will begin.”

Phase #2 Tips: The second phase of the fight starts when the floor turns red. To avoid injury, jump onto one of the ledges. The best way to attack during this phase is to wait for Gryla to come near a large candle on a ledge, then get Agraboda to blow it up.

Atreus will hit the purple runes on Gryla’s cauldron when she’s stunned. To get her stunned, Atreus hits the cauldron’s purple runes. Observe Gryla and wait for her to turn the purple runes on the cauldron before she starts throwing projectiles. Avoid getting hit by them.

Gryla will be stunned when her four health bars are depleted, so take this opportunity to use melee attacks on her as much as possible.

Phase #3 Tips: The third phase of the battle is arguably the most challenging. Just as you did in phase two, draw Gryla to the candle and then have Agraboda blow it up–this will stun her and give you a chance to target purple runes on her cauldron. Again, switch the platforms until you get the right angle of the cauldron while she is stunned.

You will die if you don’t hit Gryla with your arrows when she throws projectiles at Atreus. Don’t forget to jump over the platform to avoid the red floor, and when Gryla only has one health bar left, use “R3” to counter and end the fight.

That’s everything you need to know on how to beat Gryla. If you need more help, here are some more guides you may find helpful:

How To Beat The Hateful Boss In God Of War: Ragnarok

The Hateful is a recurring optional boss that you can encounter as you progress through God of War: Ragnarok. It is part of the Born from Fire favor and defeating all of them rewards you with a Flame of Chaos. In this God of War: Ragnarok guide, we go over how you can beat The Hateful boss.

Defeating The Hateful Boss In God Of War: Ragnarok

While the boss does not seem like much, it is very fast and aggressive. It can also summon Draugr which can overwhelm you if you are backed up into a corner. The first thing that we recommend is moving away from the area that the boss spawn and making some room for you to dodge.

One of the quicker ways of defeating this boss is by stunning it but that is easier said than done. We recommend using Atreus’ arrow attacks and Kratos’ fists. Defeating the smaller Draugr can be helpful as they drop health that you can pick up.

Beware of the yellow and red attacks. The yellow attacks can be blocked with your shield but the red attacks need to be dodged and cannot be blocked. The Hateful can create an explosive red aura around itself. Do not get close when that happens and use the Leviathan Axe to attack it from a distance. This does become more important as you get to the later stages of the game where this mini-boss becomes more powerful.

We also recommend using objects in your environment to your advantage. Kratos can use tree trunks and pillars to attack enemies.

Keep your distance when the boss goes red, have enough space to dodge and avoid those red circle attacks and you should be able to outlast The Hateful. This is how you can defeat The Hateful boss in God of War: Ragnarok. How To Defeat Huntress Boss In God Of War: Ragnarok

Once Kratos and Atreus are reunited they come across the Huntress. This is the first boss that Kratos and Atreus fight together. In this God of War: Ragnarok guide, we cover how you can defeat Huntress.

Beating Huntress In God Of War: Ragnarok

Huntress uses a bow and has different arrow attacks that she can use. One of these attacks involves shooting a line of arrows at the floor. These are going to explode and will damage you if you are too close. When you see sparks on the floor dodge or move away from the area to avoid taking damage.

Huntress can also fire a single arrow at you which does fire damage. You need to dodge this. The weak point of the boss is her glowing horns. When you see these glow, throw your Leviathan Axe at them to stagger the boss. This will allow you to safely get some hits in and deal some damage. Time this right and you can prevent her from using an unblockable attack prompted with a red circle.

Huntress is an agile boss and can quickly get away from you if you move too close. That is why we recommend using the Blades of Chaos and Atreus to attack her and only use the axe to hit her weak point.

Depending on the difficulty option that you selected, you will find some health that you can pick up. If your rage meter is full then you can activate Spartan Rage and deal damage to the boss in order to gain health back. Spartan Rage can also come in handy if you miss the red or yellow prompts. When activated it will knock back Huntress and keep you from receiving damage.

Once the health of the boss is depleted, you need to press the prompted buttons in order to defeat her. She will drop a couple of important resources including the first Frozen Flame which allows you to upgrade the Leviathan Axe.

This is how you can defeat Huntress in God of War: Ragnarok. If you are interested in learning more then you can check out our guide on how you can beat the Dreki. For more content, check out our God of War: Ragnarok guides hub.
