Yoroi is currently the most popular Cardano wallet. It is a browser extension wallet that allows you to store Cardano native tokens. For the time being, you can store $ADA and $ERG on the Yoroi wallet.

Every now and then you may need to change devices or re-install windows/Mac. Doing so will require you to restore your wallet. In this guide, we will explain how to restore your Yoroi Wallet.

Yoroi: How to Restore Wallet

The first thing you need to do is make sure you have your Seed Phrase and password with you. Seed Phrase is the set of random words Yoroi provides when you created the wallet.

Download and install the Yoroi browser extension and select Restore Wallet. The wallet then asks you to choose between Cardano and ERGO. Select your preferences and the type of wallet you want to restore. For $Ada tokens, select Cardano. You will then have three of the following options.:

  • 15 Word Seed Phrase: If you have a 15-word seed phrase select this option.
  • 24 Word Seed Phrase: If you have a 24-word seed phrase select this option.
  • Paper Wallet: “If you have generated a Yoroi paper wallet (which is usually printed and kept offline), you can choose this option to import the funds from your Yoroi paper wallet.”

The next options are Standard or Byron (read-only) Wallet. Select the Standard Wallet and enter your Seed Phrase. You will also have to add a new password and wallet name. Press “Restore Wallet” and you should get access to your Cardano wallet.
