Mists of Helheim is an excellent heavy runic attack for the Leviathan Axe as it has a large area of effect and works well paired with other skills and combos. You can get it relatively early on and we recommend getting it. In this God of War: Ragnarok guide, we discuss how you can get the Mists of Helheim heavy runic attack.
Getting Mists Of Helheim In God Of War: Ragnarok
Mists of Helheim can be found in the Cliffside Ruins in Vanaheim. Brok and Lunda have a shop near it and there is a Mystic Gateway as well.
If you head over to the edge of the ruins, you will see the chest on the other side. To get to the other side, you will need to use the bridge which is withdrawn.
To use the bridge, you must take your boat to the Veiled Passage, which is a hidden area. Progres through and you will find yourself on the other side of the bridge. You can use Freya’s chain ability and your blades of chaos to clear the path to the chest. Open it to get the heavy runic attack for the Leviathan Axe.

While you do get light runic attacks for the Leviathan Axe and Blades of Chaos pretty early on in God of War: Ragnarok, heavy runic attacks are harder to find. Ivaldi’s Anvil is an impressive heavy runic attack for the Leviathan Axe and in this God of War: Ragnarok guide, we go over how you can get it.
Get Ivaldi’s Anvil In God Of War: Ragnarok
The Ivaldi’s Anvil heavy runic attack can be found in The Derelict Outpost in Midgard. You will find a Mystic Gateway and a dwarf shop near it. Head to the area and progress through it, defeating the enemies that you encounter on your path.
You will find a large gate on the upper top-left section. You will have to jump and swing across a couple of platforms to get there. Progress forward and you will come into a room that has a crane inside. You can use the Leviathan Axe to rotate the crane and then use your blades to get to the other side.
Once you make your way across, use your blades to climb the ledge on the left. You will find the chest that you are looking for at the top next to some runes. Open it to find Ivaldi’s Anvil heavy runic attack for the Leviathan Axe.

The Hateful is a recurring optional boss that you can encounter as you progress through God of War: Ragnarok. It is part of the Born from Fire favor and defeating all of them rewards you with a Flame of Chaos. In this God of War: Ragnarok guide, we go over how you can beat The Hateful boss.
Defeating The Hateful Boss In God Of War: Ragnarok
While the boss does not seem like much, it is very fast and aggressive. It can also summon Draugr which can overwhelm you if you are backed up into a corner. The first thing that we recommend is moving away from the area that the boss spawn and making some room for you to dodge.
One of the quicker ways of defeating this boss is by stunning it but that is easier said than done. We recommend using Atreus’ arrow attacks and Kratos’ fists. Defeating the smaller Draugr can be helpful as they drop health that you can pick up.
Beware of the yellow and red attacks. The yellow attacks can be blocked with your shield but the red attacks need to be dodged and cannot be blocked. The Hateful can create an explosive red aura around itself. Do not get close when that happens and use the Leviathan Axe to attack it from a distance. This does become more important as you get to the later stages of the game where this mini-boss becomes more powerful.
We also recommend using objects in your environment to your advantage. Kratos can use tree trunks and pillars to attack enemies.
Keep your distance when the boss goes red, have enough space to dodge and avoid those red circle attacks and you should be able to outlast The Hateful. This is how you can defeat The Hateful boss in God of War: Ragnarok. If you are interested in learning more then you can check out our A Viking Funeral Favor walkthrough and The Lost Treasure Favor walkthrough guides.
Once Kratos and Atreus are reunited they come across the Huntress. This is the first boss that Kratos and Atreus fight together. In this God of War: Ragnarok guide, we cover how you can defeat Huntress.
Beating Huntress In God Of War: Ragnarok
Huntress uses a bow and has different arrow attacks that she can use. One of these attacks involves shooting a line of arrows at the floor. These are going to explode and will damage you if you are too close. When you see sparks on the floor dodge or move away from the area to avoid taking damage.
Huntress can also fire a single arrow at you which does fire damage. You need to dodge this. The weak point of the boss is her glowing horns. When you see these glow, throw your Leviathan Axe at them to stagger the boss. This will allow you to safely get some hits in and deal some damage. Time this right and you can prevent her from using an unblockable attack prompted with a red circle.
Huntress is an agile boss and can quickly get away from you if you move too close. That is why we recommend using the Blades of Chaos and Atreus to attack her and only use the axe to hit her weak point.
Depending on the difficulty option that you selected, you will find some health that you can pick up. If your rage meter is full then you can activate Spartan Rage and deal damage to the boss in order to gain health back. Spartan Rage can also come in handy if you miss the red or yellow prompts. When activated it will knock back Huntress and keep you from receiving damage.
Once the health of the boss is depleted, you need to press the prompted buttons in order to defeat her. She will drop a couple of important resources including the first Frozen Flame which allows you to upgrade the Leviathan Axe.
This is how you can defeat Huntress in God of War: Ragnarok. If you are interested in learning more then you can check out our guide on how you can beat the Dreki. For more content, check out our God of War: Ragnarok guides hub.
Hidden Leaf Games announced today that their upcoming MOBA, Fangs, will be released into Early Access on Steam and the Epic Games Store this November 30th, 2022 at 10 am PST. From the mind of lead designer Steve “Guinsoo” Feak, Fangs is a 4v4 ever-evolving MOBA that focuses on hero-specific strategies, where each skill shot is the difference between glory & defeat. Players will be able to customize their play style by unlocking, and alternating hero-specific augments.
For the Early Access release, Fangs will have three different playable maps, each with different battlefield conditions, and unique strategic challenges staged in different environments. These maps will feature two different win conditions, all with their own quirks and challenges. The two win conditions are Aspect Win (push the payload), and Captain Win (achievable by killing the enemy Captain four times). Each game is made up of a best of five rounds, with either win conditions being met.
Fangs’ diverse hero roster of fourteen heroes at launch, comes with an even more in-depth customization system. With the ability to change augments each round, players can change their playstyle to match any team comp challenges.
In Fangs, we want to make sure everyone finds a home with one of our heroes. We will create and foster diverse backgrounds and styles so that folks can relate with any one of our heroes. We hope that each hero inspires players to push the boundaries of their plays, and find new answers to challenges every single round.
Hidden Leaf Games’ mission is to augment best-in-class MOBA combat through strategic decision making. When they first began brainstorming for how they wanted Fangs to play, they looked at some of their favorite MOBA titles and took inspiration from elements that they felt really spoke for the genre, while eliminating other mechanics that didn’t add to the experience they were looking to create.
Hidden Leaf Games’ goal for Fangs is to empower players to express their style through a fast-paced hero brawler that rewards adaptability and precise skill. The game invites both the MOBA curious, as well as genre veterans since it’s easy to learn, but hard to master. Fangs eliminates lane phases, CSing, and complex item builds which help lower the MOBA entry barriers that tend to deter folks from the genre.
Founded in 2019 by CEO & Executive Producer David Li, and President Bao Lam, Hidden Leaf Games is a venture backed game development studio with more than 70 developers across the globe. Hidden Leaf Games as a studio has the mission of delivering a world-class experience that focuses on competition, progression, and social play.
We believe games are meant to be played together, regardless of skill level or platform. At our core, we’re players who deeply value the social and community interactions that competitive moments have to offer.

Design lead by the designer responsible for DOTA 2, and League of Legends

In God Of War: Ragnarok you need to split the XP that you earn between unlocking skills and upgrading runic attacks. You will not have a lot of XP in the early stages of the game so deciding what to unlock first can get a bit tricky. In this God Of War: Ragnarok guide, we cover the best skills that you should unlock first.
Best Skills To Get Early In God Of War: Ragnarok
The following are the skills that we recommend unlocking early on in God Of War: Ragnarok;
Glacial Rake – Leviathan Axe
You can hold R1 to drag the Leviathan Axe on the ground to create ice shards that move toward enemies and hit them with frost damage. This is a fast attack that can hit multiple enemies at the same time.
Hyperion Grapple – Blades of Chaos
This is the skill that we recommend you get early on for the Blades of Chaos. Using this skill allows Kratos to impale an enemy and then launch himself toward the enemy stunning on impact. If the enemy is in the air then it will be slammed into the ground.
Serpent’s Snare – Leviathan Axe
This is the second skill that we can recommend for the Leviathan Axe. It allows Kratos to use an enemy as a bomb that deals damage to surrounding enemies on impact.
Permafrost – Leviathan Axe
Permafrost imbues the Leviathan Axe with frost as long as you do not get hit. This allows you to deal more damage with each hit.
Vengeful Sickle – Leviathan Axe
This is a charged ranged attack that deals multiple hits to enemies.
Blazing Explosion – Blades of Chaos
This increases the impact of your ranged heavy attack.
Immolation – Blades of Chaos
This is Permafrost for the Blades of Chaos. It allows Kratos to deal more damage with each hit with the Blades of Chaos without getting hit.
Watchful Protector – Atreus
When you are surrounded by enemies, Atreus will agro them. This will take some of the pressure off Kratos. Atreus does not have a lot of skills at the start of the game but his skill tree does grow as you progress through the game.
God of War: Ragnarok is out now and since the last game was a couple of years ago, your skills might be a bit rusty. You need not worry. In this God of War: Ragnarok guide, we go over some useful tips and tricks that will help you on your journey.
God Of War: Ragnarok Tips And Tricks
The following are the tips and tricks that you should keep in mind when playing God of War: Ragnarok.
Tweak The Accessibility Settings
Santa Monica Studio has added plenty of accessibility options to God of War: Ragnarok. We recommend checking out the puzzle aim assist and auto pickup settings. You will be picking up a lot of items in the game so auto pickup is going to save a lot of time and button presses. If you are having trouble with mini-bosses then you can also turn on boss checkpoints.
Break Objects In The Environment
While progressing through the world, you will often find breakable objects such as vases and crates. You can break these to get items such as a health boost, rage boost, and even some Hacksilver.
Enemy Health Bars Show How Powerful They Are
Enemies in God of War: Ragnarok can have health bars with different colors. Green indicates that the enemy is lower level than you while yellow indicates a similar level. Orange means the enemy is a level higher than you, purple means two levels above yours and red means three levels above you.
Upgrade Your Runic Attacks
You can update your runic attacks up to level 3 by spending XP. Which is also used to upgrade and acquire skills. Try not to spend all your XP on skill and spend some on upgrading runic attacks that you like. This is similar to the previous game.
Rage Keeps You Out Of Harm’s Way
If you are surrounded by enemies or missed the yellow parry prompt then you can activate spartan rage to protect yourself. When this is triggered enemies will be knocked back. This even applies to some bosses such as the Dreki.
Interacting With Mystic Gateways Will Fill Your Gauges
Mystic Gateways are fast travel points that allow you to move from place to place quickly. When you interact with them, your health bar and rage meter are going to fill up. If you are low on health or want a full rage meter then interacting with a nearby Mystic Gateway is one way of doing just that. You do not have to go anywhere for the effects to take place.
Skills Can Be Disabled
If you activate a skill unintentionally and find it annoying then you can disable it from the skill tree. You can do that by pressing the triangle button.
Atreus’ Skill Tree Grows As You Progress
Atreus’ skill tree grows and opens up new possibilities as you progress through God of War: Ragnarok. If you do not like his initial skills then you can hold off until you progress the game enough to unlock skills that you like.
A Resurrection Stone Helps You Cheat Death
A resurrection stone allows Atreus to revive you if you die. This can come in handy if you are up against a tough boss. You can buy these from Brok or Sindri but you can only have one on you at a time. Which means that you can only be brought back to life once. Once the stone is used, you will need to buy another one.
These are some useful tips and tricks that should help you out while playing God Of War: Ragnarok. If you are interested in learning more then you can check out our guide on where you can find the different shields in the game. You can also check out our guide on how you can earn all the trophies in the game.

Update: The day one update includes plenty of bug fixes and improvements as well as features such as additional tuning and coverage for DualSense controller haptics. The patch notes have been released but we have not included them due to potential spoilers. You can check them out on the official website.

There are a total of 36 trophies that you can earn in God of War: Ragnarok. We have removed the spoilers so if you are interested in going into the game blind then you can still do that.
