AMD Ryzen 7000 series is around the corner and as we get closer to launch we are getting images of AM5 motherboards from partners. Asus is one of the best motherboard makers and here we have the Asus Strix X670E-A and Prime X670-P.

Asus Strix X670E-A

The Asus Strix X670E-A is supposed to be a relatively mid-range motherboard and is ideal for people interested in building a white PC build. The motherboard has plenty of armor and VRM cooling. All the M.2 slots come with heatsinks, so you do not have to buy them separately. There is also an LED screen that you can customize.

Asus Strix X670E-A

While we have no confirmation regarding the specifications we can safely assume that at least a pair of M.2 slots support PCIe Gen5 and the top PCIe slot that is reinforced is Gen5 as well. The motherboard has plenty of I/O and comes with an integrated I/O shield for easy installation. Out of the box, the motherboard comes with Wi-Fi and it has a Wi-Fi antenna as well.

Asus Prime X670-P

The Asus Prime X670-P is supposed to be a cheaper variant and unlike the X670E chipset that supports PCIe Gen 5 across the board, this motherboard will either come with Gen5 storage or graphics card support, not both. Since this is a relatively budget-oriented motherboard, it does not come with features such as an integrated I/O shield and the two M.2 slots at the end do not come with heatsinks. I would imagine that these M.2 slots are Gen4 and not Gen5.

The motherboard does have some armor and there is decent VRM cooling but there is a clear difference between the Strix and the Prime models. You even get less I/O compared to the X670E Strix model. The motherboard does come with Wi-Fi out of the box and the antenna is included as well.

These are two new X670 motherboards from Asus that we have spotted. Let us know what you think about them and whether or not you are interested in upgrading to AMD Ryzen 7000 series CPUs.
